Wai city history. History of Vice City. Release on major gaming platforms

23.11.2021 Symptoms
Control PC:

Vice City uses a modified version of the previous game's engine, Grand Theft Auto III, also providing the player with a large city filled with various buildings (from hotels to skyscrapers), vehicles (cars, motorcycles, boats, yachts, helicopters and airplanes) and people.

The next game in the series was Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

Game world

The game takes place in the fictional city of Vice City, in which the features of Miami, Florida are easily discernible. Set in 1986, the game's visual style, particularly the clothing, music and vehicles, reflect this, with occasional elements of subtle parody.

Unlike the overtly urban Liberty City of Grand Theft Auto III, Vice City appears to the player as a generally clean and prosperous city with attractive beaches, palm trees swaying in the wind, and bright sunshine. Of course, there are squalid neighborhoods, abandoned mansions and a military base, but this only adds a sense of reality to the game.

Radio

The game features seven radio stations, many of whose radio hosts are also found in GTA III. A distinctive feature of the music of Vice City is that the compositions played on the waves of radio stations are real hits of the early 1980s. Thus, the atmosphere of the "vicious city" of the 80s era Miami only intensifies.

9 hours of 80s music were recorded, including: Judas Priest (“You've got another thing coming”), GrandMaster Flash (“The Message”), Laura Branigan (“Self Control”), Kool and the Gang (“ Summer Madness"), Flock of Seagulls ("I Ran"), Hall & Oats ("Out of Touch") and Cutting Crew ("I Just Died in Your Arms"), Michael Jackson (Billie Jean, Wanna be startin" somethin ") whose repertoire was included in the autoradio, which can be switched on at will, with a number of radio stations (including those broadcasting the music of the fictional group “Love Fist”).

Later, a separate Grand Theft Auto: Vice City soundtrack was released, consisting of 7 discs (according to the number of radio stations), which was highly appreciated not only by fans of the game, but also by music lovers nostalgic for the 80s.

It is also possible to add your own melodies to the game.

Release on major gaming platforms

PlayStation 2

To date, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City for PlayStation 2 has the best sales figures among the entire series of games, not counting the new GTA4, which sold 4.2 million copies on its first day. Vice City was predicted to be a greater commercial success than the previous game in the series, Grand Theft Auto III, due to numerous improvements and public interest in the wake of the success of GTA III. Interesting fact is that Vice City outsold the next game in the series, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The reason for this situation can be considered an agreement between Sony Computer Entertainment and Take-Two Interactive, signed before the release of Vice City, according to which the game was to be released only on the PlayStation 2. This made fans of the game doubt the release of versions for Xbox and PC. However, the agreement was soon rewritten, allowing the porting of the game to and the release of the Grand Theft Auto: Double Pack collection for.

PC

  • Video games and second-generation home game consoles: In radio advertisements for the Degenatron video game console, the graphics are described as "green dots" and "red square".
  • Pablo Escobar and the cocaine subculture of the gaming world are mentioned in the name of the Vice City airport: Escobar International. Escobar International Airport ).
  • Glam metal is parodied by the fictional band Love Fist, in the style of Spinal Tap.
  • Cold War - Mentioned several times on various radio stations. For example, on VCPR, when Congressman Alex Schrab accuses one of the participants of speaking like a communist.
  • Typical 1980s music: New Wave, early hip-hop, synth-pop and hard rock.
  • Self-help programs, including those associated with Thor and Jeremy Roberd's Think Your Way to Success program. success with the power of thought ).

Easter eggs and developer jokes

  • At the very beginning of the game, the splash screen depicts the process of loading the game on the command line of a Commodore 64 computer, a popular home computer in the 1980s. In the background, the user can be heard slowly typing commands to load the game to the sounds of the song Video Killed the Radio Star by Buggles and, after being prompted, insert the cassette into the tape recorder and press play. A short intro appears with the Rockstar North logo.
  • From one of the helipads on the western island of the city, you can get to the secret room of the adjacent building (by jumping straight into the nearest window). In the center of the room is a large chocolate-colored egg with “Happy Easter!” written on it. (congratulations on the coming of Easter). In this way, the developers played on the term “Easter eggs” (eng. easter eggs), by inserting a real Easter egg into the game.
  • There is a large building across from the Malibu club. If you look at the building from afar at night (for example, from a helicopter), you can see a hidden message from the developers in the form of a pattern of glowing windows. This is a phallic image. Exactly at 00-00 in-game time, the fountain on the roof of this building releases several sheaves of spray, which symbolizes ejaculation.
  • The moon in the game is by no means static. If you shoot it with a sniper rifle, it will increase in size. And with every shot it will become more and more.
  • In the river separating the two islands, near the biker club, you can see the corpse of a man “poured” into the bottom a la Cosa Nostra.
  • Also at night you can see a constellation in the sky in the form of the Rockstar Games logo.

: Cholo Saber

IN VCS The Cholo are the dominant Mexican group in Little Havana and Little Haiti. They are extremely militant and are involved in a conflict simultaneously with different forces in the city: Phil Cassidy is fighting with them for dominance in the underground arms trade, on the other hand, the trailer park mafia is “running into” small shops controlled by “Cholo” and other types of legal and criminal business. Also, the influence of the Mexicans in Little Havana begins to be challenged by the Cuban group Los Cabrones under the leadership of Humberto Robina. After an unsuccessful attempt to kill Alberto Robina, Umberto's father, "Cholo" begins to have serious problems that end extremely badly for the gang.

A Cuban gang led by Humberto Robina, who for some time collaborated with trailer park mafia boss Marty Williams. The gang trades in cocaine and possibly weapons. After the victorious war with the Mexican "Cholos", the Cubans become masters in Little Havana.

Diaz's gang (Group of Ricardo Diaz)
Boss: Ricardo Diaz
Habitat: Diaz's mansion (Starfish Island)
Favorite radio: -
Favorite weapon: -
Transport : -

The Colombian drug cartel, created and led by cocaine king Ricardo Diaz, infiltrates the city in the early 80s. Paranoidly striving for control over all drug trafficking in the city, Diaz confidently leads his organization to the top, eliminating any competitors that even minimally affect his domain - smuggling and selling large quantities of drugs. The clothes of the drug lord's thugs consist of colorful Hawaiian shirts and light-colored pants.

Mendez's gang (Mendez Cartel)
Boss: Armando And Diego Mendez
Habitat: Mendez mansion (Prawn Island)
Favorite radio: -
Favorite weapon: Micro SMG
Transport : Sentinel XS

The main activity of the Bolivian cartel, of course, is drug trafficking. They are the ones who supply prohibited substances to high-ranking officials at the Fort Baxter military base. The cartel owns an estate on Prawn Island, which, after the death of the founders of the criminal organization, brothers Armando and Diego Mendez, will be at the disposal of the Sharks group. Representatives of the cartel are distinguished by large mustaches, colorful clothing and carrying automatic weapons.

Gonzalez's gang (Gonzalez's henchmen)
Boss: Gonzalez
Habitat: South America
Favorite radio: -
Favorite weapon: Micro SMG, M4
Transport : Sentinel

Another Latin American group, created from mercenaries and formally led by Gonzalez, a subordinate of Colonel Juan Cortez. Boss Gonzalez's main interest is American weapons, which he can use for another attempt to “establish democracy” in his “banana republic.” In exchange, the colonel is ready to offer the officers of Fort Baxter first-class cocaine. True, after Gonzalez supervised the transfer, the “purity” of the goods turned out to be spoiled, and the weapon went to Ricardo Diaz. And only the generosity of the latter allowed Gonzalez to fly home empty-handed.

The base of this group is a trailer park near Sunshine Autos in Vice City, which was later abandoned by 1986. Local resident Marty Jay Williams leads a group that extorts the poorest people, terrorizes small businesses, and partially controls the street sex industry. Distinctive feature The appearance of representatives of this gang includes T-shirts with the Confederate flag.

The Sharks operate several businesses on the city's eastern island, with their main interests being robbery, smuggling and drugs. After Victor takes over their business, the Sharks begin constant attacks on Vance's properties and frequently harass him. Red berets and bright colored suits are a distinctive feature of the sharks' clothing. Representatives of this street brotherhood are armed with automatic weapons.

In fact, these people are difficult to classify as an organized crime group - rather, they are paid mercenaries who receive their income for protecting underground enterprises belonging to the Vance clan. There are only two members of the criminal family - brothers Victor and Lance. The scope of their interests is very wide and extends to six different types illegal activities carried out throughout Vice City, often under the guise of legitimate businesses.

In 1984, bikers are a large criminal association in Vice City, which controls a number of points of influence located in the north of the city in the Downtown and Vice Point areas. The main activities of bikers include drug trafficking, smuggling and brothel maintenance. It is believed that after the takeover of their business by Victor Vance, the gang's sphere of influence was reduced to a small area in Downtown, where their leader Mitch Baker spent time in the Greasy Chopper bar in 1986. Leather items prevail in clothing; bikers wear long hair and beards, individuals are often found with helmets made in the style of German helmets from the First World War.

An offshoot of a biker gang that stands out primarily for its unconventional orientation and racist views. Their appearance is also unique: look at their trousers and leather caps, as well as tattoos all over their bodies. The hangout for their inner circle is the White Stallionz bar, which the Vance brothers will visit in one of the missions. Of course, these two black homophobic vandals did not allow their “enlightened” white brothers to lynch themselves, so the fate of the “Stallions” is even sadder than that of the other bikers...

The US Army cannot be called a gang. Because it's not politically correct. Even if they suddenly start shooting civilians or looting, all the same, they are fighters against terrorism. But the servicemen also have useful property: V Vice City Stories the military is called in for help when even the FBI is unable to control the brawler. This is where the chance appears to steal a tank from some unwary sergeant.

Employees of the private security organization Patrol Invest Group (P.I.G.). You can meet them in the shopping center in the north of Vice Point, as well as in the area of Escobar airport. Judging by their inconspicuous role in VCS, dark affairs have not yet become part of their usual way of life, so law-abiding security guards are exclusively engaged in maintaining order at controlled facilities.

Club members with similar interests, which will be extremely difficult to find outside of Leaf Links Island. However, these not at all poor citizens have a highly developed sense of collectivism, so if you get into a fight with one of them, you risk provoking a major skirmish involving his fellow club members who happen to be nearby. Having completely forgotten the principle of “don’t hit someone who’s down,” these scoundrels will easily beat any unwary opponent to death with golf clubs.

Boss: -
Habitat: sea spaces
Favorite radio: -
Favorite weapon: M4
Transport : Violator

Smugglers, as you might guess from the name, are engaged in the import of prohibited goods into Vice City, the main one, of course, being cocaine. The group is represented in the game in only a few missions, so we don’t encounter it very often. However, by the way they behave during such meetings, one can judge that their community has a clear organization (possibly also a hierarchical structure) and does not like single strangers. Representatives of the smugglers' guild usually shoot their competitors' watercraft with automatic weapons and let them sink to the bottom.

We come across the Forelli family thugs only three times during the game - when they make one after another assassination attempt on Phil Collins. Vendetta against the sweet-voiced Englishman was declared because the singer’s manager does not want to repay Giorgio Forelli’s three-million dollar debt and at the same time hides the essence of the problem from his client.

Vice City is not the largest city in computer games, but it is where developers are constantly creating something new. The next experiment is GTA game Vice City Stories, the torrent of which can be downloaded on our portal. This product is just another mod, but has an original storyline. Many changes have been made to the city itself, to locations, buildings and vehicles. It became more interesting to play. Along with the new protagonist, new tasks appeared.

Game plot

At the center of things is a guy named Vic Vance. For a long time he was an excellent soldier, but at one point he lost his job. Since he knows how to make money only by force and weapons, Vice City is a real find for him. At first the guy will serve the big bosses, but over time he will realize that he can reach the top of the criminal world himself. Players will help the main character achieve his cherished goal. Together with his partners, Vic will conquer territories from rivals, eliminate competitors and do everything to become the master of the city.

Gameplay

In principle, for GTA fans the gameplay may seem familiar. Everything is the same here: chases, shootouts, gang warfare, problems with the police. This is one of the few additions in which the emphasis is placed not only on the visual component, but also on the plot. It really shows very well the story of the life of one man who tries to do everything just to provide for his family. However, as the game progresses, you will notice many technical innovations.

The events in this part take place two years before the time of Tommy Vercetti. Gamers will be able to find out which criminal gangs ruled the city previously, and how each boss came to power in his time.

Features of GTA Vice City Stories

  • Atmosphere. The developers also put a lot of effort into the visual aspect. Gamers will really be pleased with the current atmosphere. They completely modified characters, car models, buildings, structures and the like. Players will even enjoy the sudden weather changes, which look quite realistic.
  • Original quests. Since this mod tells the story of a completely different person, the developers did a good job on storyline. Players will have many tasks to complete, but will also have freedom of action and an open city.

The year 2012 was rich for the line Grand Theft Auto for events, announcements and dates. Most of the attention, of course, was drawn to the future flagship of the game series - the numbered part. However, looking confidently into the future, Rockstar Games does not forget about the glorious past. On October 29, one of the jewels in the crown is not only GTA, but also the entire gaming industry as a whole, celebrated its tenth birthday.

The developers did not ignore this event, as well as the 10th anniversary of the unit in 2011. As a result, a great gift for fans was the opportunity to relive past experiences using the mobile version GTA: Vice City 10th Anniversary Edition, ported to modern smartphones and tablets. The creators of the game also published a number of materials and interviews on the history of their work on virtual Miami in the early 2000s.

The President shared his memories with the press Rockstar Games and executive producer of the game Sam Houser, head Rockstar North and series producer GTA Leslie Benzies and artistic director Rockstar North Aaron Garbutt. We decided to combine the most interesting information they presented into a single article about how it was created GTA: Vice City.

sources of inspiration

The idea to use this setting arose long before the start of work not only on the Vice City or the “three ruble” that preceded it. Even before the birth, during the development of the London set of retro missions for the first, the authors planned to make the next project in Miami of the 80s of the last century. Then, for one reason or another, it didn’t work out.

Interesting, but also after release Grand Theft Auto III there was initially no talk of a sequel. After spending several months on the PC port, the team began to think about things that could be added as a content pack: weapons, vehicles, cool missions - essentially everything that they wanted to include in the 3rd part initially, but failed. However, it quickly became clear that there were too many new ideas for an additional set of missions and this should be a separate game.

When the first design meetings discussed the choice of a new location, there were so many proposals that very few cities and regions of the Earth were not among the possible contenders. The option of returning the series to London, as well as some other locations, was considered, but Sam insisted on Miami.

This passion for the Florida neon paradise began with the youthful love of brothers Sam And Dana Houser to the American crime drama Scarface, which was released in 1983, and, more importantly, to the television series Miami Vice. The eldest of the brothers even purchased through eBay VHS tapes of all five seasons with terrible recording quality before the DVD edition was released.

Since the last days of work on GTA 3 Sam I went home during my lunch break and rewatched episodes of my favorite show, imagining how certain moments could be implemented in the game. It was practically the only thing he watched for almost a whole year. And although in the end the plot of the game got more from "Scarface", the overall tone and atmosphere Vice City, a huge amount of details and little things were created with an eye on the popular television series.

Also, according to recollections Aaron Garbutt, the developers were inspired by the detailed criminal characters of another crime drama With Al Pacino starring Carlito’s Way.

Development difficulties

But having such guidelines in front of my eyes, many things were still not given Rockstar easily.

For example, Aaron Garbutt I saw Miami at night in the series and personally visited the Florida resort. He had a good idea of what he wanted to achieve when working on the visual style of neon lighting. However, it was very, very difficult to get the desired result.

Didn't make it easier to work on Vice City and that the main team was in Scotland. To see the virtual world they were creating live, the guys from Edinburgh traveled to Miami only once. And it was still a drinking binge. Having dealt with GTA 3, about a month later the whole team Rockstar I went to Florida for a week.

Naturally, not about any organization research work there was no talk during that trip. Everyone just split into groups of two and tried to take as many photographs as possible on those small memory cards that were in use then. During one of these chaotic photo sessions Aaron accidentally came across a car with bullet holes in the windshield in some suspicious back alley.

But it was still progress in relation to the third GTA. Then only two Edinburgh residents went to filming, and they had to take photographs on 35mm film. U Garbuta I still have a box of several hundred photographs taken for Liberty City. In comparison, the modern approach R exploration of the area is much more serious. The team plans and organizes artist tours led by area experts and off-duty police officers. And they return from trips with hundreds of thousands of high-resolution photographs, each of which is equipped with coordinates thanks to the GPS system.

Another difficult moment was associated with the phenomenal popularity GTA 3. As the fame of the previous game, which collected many awards, grew, the pressure on the next project also grew. Rockstar North along with the expectations placed on it. Moreover, the entire development cycle took only about nine months. Although creating 3D models for Vice City was already underway at the end of 2001, in fact the launch of the project took place at the beginning of 2002, and by October the game was already completely ready.

The last weeks of development became a complete nightmare for the small company at the time. In addition to the aspirations of the players Vice City The parent corporation also had high hopes - Take-Two. But releasing a product that isn't good enough to meet the deadline Rockstar I couldn't afford it either. During that period Sam Houser didn't think about anything other than not wanting to let players down: For me, it would be better if they didn't buy the game at all than to be disappointed with it.

Musical pause

Oddly enough, but the need for a soundtrack consisting of well-known hits of the past, Sam Houser was almost as unsure as he was passionate about bringing the 80s to life in the game. Vice City seemed the opposite of the previous game, which had far fewer recognizable compositions. Part of the musical works in the third GTA were born within the walls Rockstar and hit radio stations in the name of fictitious performers.

Having tried for the first time in a Scottish studio to play GTA: Vice City with real music from that period, Sam experienced mixed feelings, as if crossing the line between reality and fiction. For months he was haunted by the question of how such a thing would affect the game. Fortunately, some of his colleagues were persistent enough and convinced the head of the company of the positive prospects of the idea with an authentic soundtrack.

Actors and characters

Ray Liotta, who was supposed to voice the main character - Tommy Vercetti - managed to insist on a personal meeting with the president Rockstar. The actor invited both Hausers and a couple more studio representatives for lunch at one of the oldest Brooklyn steakhouses, characterized by pretentiousness, a constant lack of free tables and a slightly rude attitude towards visitors. And so the four men found themselves in the middle of a crowded restaurant, not having the slightest confidence that they would be accepted there.

But then he appeared Liotta and led the whole company straight to the best table. This had such an inspiring effect on Sam, that he literally bombarded the actor with details about their future collaboration and about the game in general. For which he received the description of “damn crazy”, which Liotta expressed the next day in a conversation with Dan: God, your brother’s a fucking lunatic.

Nevertheless Ray, seems to have understood the author's intention, since, according to Sam, did an excellent job with his role. The only thing that subsequently overshadowed the impressions Hauser from collaboration with a movie star, were voiced by an agent Liotta the actor's comments about the amount of the fee. They say that the game turned out to be so large-scale that they should have asked a lot more from these guys.

Also, playing later as Tommy Vercetti, Sam Houser I caught myself wondering if he was playing for Ray Liotta instead of your character. Therefore, in the future, the company has set a course to reduce the participation of big stars in the dubbing of its games. The number of famous film actors who took part in the work on the film was already smaller, and the main role was given to a not very well-known performer.

Pleased Hauser and work Philip-Michael Thomas, who voiced Lance Vance. Some of their scenes together with Tommy Vercetti were great, accurately capturing the relationship between the Miami Vice characters Crockett and Tubbs. The achieved similarity of the game with the series, to which the creators Vice City and strived, it seemed incredible to them at that time.

I worked on the appearance of the characters in the game Ian McCue (Ian McQue), lead character artist at Rockstar North at that time. He immediately prepared a lot of sketches, which later determined, to one degree or another, the main features of future heroes.

Means of transport

Transport is one of the most important components in all games in the series GTA. Creating a vehicle fleet Vice City, the developers tried to maintain a distance between the fictional models they designed for the game and their real prototypes. The idea was for the cars to be appearance would only evoke associations in the player with cars of that time, but would not be a copy of specific vehicles.

One of the car model employees made a perfect replica of a Porsche Carrera from around 1985. There was even a special animation for Tommy, where the character gets into the cabin and opens the convertible top. Unfortunately, due to its complete resemblance to the real car, the artist had to redo the model.

City

The game did not need a simple change of scenery and colors. The developers wanted a special place that would have both similar and different features from New York (Liberty City). New York is busy and noisy - a real shopping city, while Miami is a center of entertainment, sun, sea and sex, but with the same dark streak inside. Like New York, Miami was often used as a setting in classic films and TV series, making it very suitable for the purpose. Rockstar.

At the same time, the outside of Vice City was strikingly different from Liberty. With what pleasure Aaron Garbutt plunged into a sunny and bright world after the gray concrete jungle GTA 3, placing the first palm trees on the map of the new city!

While in Miami, the developers stayed on Ocean Drive, in one of those Art Deco hotels that dazzle with neon at night. Every evening the “rock stars” met at the News Café bar. Subsequently, upon returning to Edinburgh, Ocean Drive became one of the first locations modeled new card. And during test runs Vice City this area always became the starting point for the player.

Of the unrealized plans for the area, the Everglades region is especially worth mentioning. Some sketches were even made based on it. It seemed Rockstar It's a good idea to expand the game world beyond the city to get some great contrasts. But the developers started in this direction only in subsequent games.

Game design and technology

Despite all the technical advances, the approach Rockstar Games has undergone few changes to the creation of its games. And today the company is guided by the same principles by which it was forged Vice City. First, the plot of the game and the course of missions are built, then ways are determined where and how best to introduce new weapons, heroes, skills, and so on. Finding a middle ground between not wanting to overwhelm the player with a ton of options early in the game and not wanting to seem stingy. Having initially determined the basic structure of the plot and gameplay elements, in the future it is easy to control the pace of the game and keep it constant.

Working on Vice City, the studio practically did not allow itself to deviate from this scheme from the very beginning until release. And this rule is still in effect. A similar principle applies to available technologies: the company does not use ready-made developments, trying to build its future game around them. The game is initially designed, and then Rockstar they look to see how far technology can be pushed to bring the idea to life.

Knowing that the most persistent of players have learned to cope with the short-winged and capricious “Dodo” from GTA 3, Rockstar I decided to add full flights to the game. This required developers not only to create air modes of transport. It was necessary to build a complete game world that could be viewed from anywhere - a difficult task for its time. But it was worth it.

Erase and rewrite

However, despite the efforts Rockstar The players received several reasons for dissatisfaction. Back to Vice City ten years later, to prepare a version for mobile devices, many of the developers were surprised by how complex their creation turned out to be in places. Constantly challenging themselves to achieve a balance between the difficulty of tasks and the pleasure of the game, the guys from Rockstar During their return visit to Vice City, they found out that even they are not always very good at it.

While working on the mobile version, the authors reworked several key game mechanics, such as the camera and aiming system, to better adapt them to the target platform. Some missions and gameplay elements have also received changes to make them more accessible. After all, the game was already targeting a different niche: on consoles, people could sit and play GTA for hours while a new version was intended to brighten up ten free minutes on the way to work.

A mobile game shouldn't force people to sit on a bus and monotonously accumulate money or replay one mind-blowing mission 20 times to advance further. Ideally, the player would return home and say, “Hi! I bought a nightclub and robbed a bank on the way home, how was your day?”

In general, according to Aaron Garbutt, mobile Vice City is the best of all existing versions. It was based on the original PC game, which was supplemented with improved character models from Xbox and camera controls adapted to the touch screen.

Present and future

Today Aaron Garbutt, like many of his colleagues, speaks warmly about working on Vice City. For him, it was a time of developing friendships and establishing working relationships with everyone who participated in the creation of games Rockstar. Of course, it was always a common cause, but at first the groups in Edinburgh and New York were quite closed. Only over time, many of the employees became best friends.

As for the game itself, the developers also have many wonderful memories associated with it. How the map of the city was collected and the first trip was made on it; how helicopters and flying over the city appeared in the game; dancers in a club; driving along Ocean Drive at night; a tool store with unconventional weapons; the player's first change of clothing; boat jumping from water springboards; the first car smashed with a hammer; being chased by visitors to a golf club whose golf cart has just been stolen by the player; first look at Love Fist models; walking around the city on a moped on the same day they were added to the game... More than ten years have passed, but these and many other moments are still clearly remembered.

GTA: Vice City is now as much a part of our history as the 80s themselves. But will we return to this city in the future? Leslie Benzies I am sure that such a possibility always exists. IN GTA on the current generation of consoles there are references to Vice City, so the city is part of the HD universe, and the developers would happily return there. However, the original Vice City more than any other GTA, depended on the era as much as on the environment. Miami in the 1980s is so iconic that it would be strange to return to the city in any other time period.

Of course, one day in the future Rockstar I'd like to create one Big world, containing all the cities they invented, and give the player the opportunity to fly between them and revisit their favorite places. In this regard, the idea of returning Vice City to GTA looks very interesting.

How Vice City was created, part 2

Tommy Vercetti in Vice City Sent by his old boss, Sonny Forelli. Tommy's return to Liberty City caused great excitement, so a trip south seemed like a good idea. Arrival in a magnificent metropolis Vice City It didn't go quite smoothly. Tommy was left without money and without goods. Sonny demanded his money back at any cost. In addition, many in the Vice City wanted Tommy dead. The only way out was to resist violently and take the entire city into your own hands.

Being the main reference point on the way to South America and to the Caribbean Sea, Vice City like a magnet attracts migrants, which filled it with a wide variety of personalities. Athletes, pop stars, engineers, politicians, garbage collectors - everyone comes to Vice City with the goal of realizing their opportunities in America's growing city. It seems to a new person in the city that you can find a bunch of true friends. But Tommy soon realized that trust was an extremely rare commodity here.

GTA: Vice City- this is not a sequel GTA3. Vice City is a separate game with its own storyline. The action takes place in Miami (called Vice City), Florida in the 80s. You play as Tommy Vercetti, a former petty criminal from the Forelli brothers, who has just been released from prison. He was arrested during a drug operation and received a 15-year sentence. Sonny Forelli, in order to pay tribute to him, sends Tommy to Vice City to expand Forelli's criminal empire. But Tommy's first big deal goes damn badly - he loses all the money entrusted to him for the operation. Sonny was not very happy about this turn of events and demanded that Tommy return his money to him at any cost. Thanks to Ken Rosenberg, a shady lawyer with huge connections in the criminal world of Vice City, Tommy receives an invitation to a party where all the crime bosses will gather. What happens next is up to you...
