Federation Tower and what's in it. Federation Tower - The tallest building in Russia

11.11.2021 ethnoscience

- one of the greatest achievements that the notorious businessman Sergei Polonsky is proud of. Marketing slogans provoke arrogance among buyers: “look down on Moscow,” “towers broadcast your status more clearly than regular PR specialists,” “a level above others,” and so on. The positioning of the complex reveals the features of its author. Another Sergei is directly related to the project - not scandalous, but also very famous Sergei Choban.

Both towers - the East Tower and the West Tower - have been commissioned. This long-awaited event took place in 2017. The object was called the highest and most expensive long-term construction in Moscow. Construction took 14 long years (an average of one month per floor). Was it worth it? Perhaps it was worth it - the phrase is inscribed in history. After the Lakhta Center, the facility is the tallest in Europe in height, but surpasses it in the number of floors. Another record was recorded in the Guinness Book of Records: 14 thousand cubic meters were spent on pouring the concrete slab lying at the base of the towers. m of concrete.

There are a lot of technological features. Here are some of the most understandable: the glazing of buildings is close to the heat resistance parameters of a brick wall; a twin elevator system was used, in which there are two cabins in one shaft, which increases the throughput almost 2 times; Almost all energy-efficient technologies used in global construction have been applied.

Should I buy apartments for permanent residence? Yes, you can think about it if you have enough funds and the desire to be above others. This option is for you if you and “Moscow City” are practically synonymous. It is assumed that the residents work here in the City. That is, you need to be completely saturated with the spirit of the metropolis and office and business life. Staying here is associated with power and financial strength, on the one hand, and nervousness and fussiness, on the other.

There are lower skyscrapers in the City (according to marketers, not as prestigious). You can also consider. The price tag exceeds 40 million rubles. offers apartments at a more affordable price - from 18 million rubles.

In general, it’s good to take provincials on excursions here, to Moscow City. It is unlikely that many will ever be able to fly to New York, but here you are welcome - your home-grown skyscrapers. The spectacle, of course, is impressive, although, according to a number of citizens, these high-rise buildings spoiled the panorama of Moscow.

On the other hand, everyone who has been to Multifunctional complex "Federation Tower" They note the beautiful view of the city that opens from the restaurant, which is located on the 62nd floor of the West tower. This complex is also famous for the world's largest thermometer. The length of the thermometer scale is 106.5 m. Well, let’s not forget that the Vostok Tower is the tallest building in Europe.

Living in this premium class house is very prestigious. The apartments here are luxurious, fully meeting the high demands of the luxury segment. As for buyers, it is convenient to have apartments in such a house for business people who work directly in Moscow City. But this mixed-use complex, in our opinion, is not very well suited for family living. And there are a number of reasons for this.

The environmental situation in the area of the skyscraper is not the best. There are no green areas nearby, except for the Krasnaya Presnya Park. The traffic in the microdistrict is very intense; the Third Ring Road interchange is nearby.

There is social infrastructure in the neighboring blocks of the Presnensky district, but it is unevenly developed and there are not enough social facilities within walking distance. There is, of course, the option of using social facilities located on the other side of the Moscow River in the Dorogomilovo area, where you can cross via a pedestrian bridge. Distance from Multifunctional complex "Federation Tower" It's about a kilometer to Kutuzovsky Prospekt. And in that area the social infrastructure is very well developed.

In terms of transport, the walking distance to the metro can be noted as an absolute plus. But when it comes to motor transport, there are no escaping problems. Difficulties invariably arise during rush hours on Presnensky Embankment, 1st Krasnogvardeisky Proezd, and on the Third Transport Ring. And the situation is not expected to improve, given that intensive construction in the Big City continues.

Company "Potok8", which built the complex "Federation Tower", is well known in the capital's construction market. A large number of completed objects with fairly decent quality allows us to hope that "Federation Tower" it is built reliably, and this, you will agree, is very important, given the specifics of skyscrapers.

Competitors "Federation Towers" there is enough in Moscow City. Among the currently relevant proposals, we highlight the skyscrapers “Russia”, “IQ - Quarter”, etc.

In Moscow, on Krasnopresnenskaya Street (embankment), a huge fantastic structure was built, striking not only with its majesty, but also with the image of something amazingly cosmic and airy. This is one of the buildings in the most modern district of the capital - the Federation Tower. Its height is 95 floors.

"Federation Tower" is one of the most ambitious last years projects of the famous company Mirax Group. This is an excellent business center, distinguished by the proper quality and thoughtfulness of all implemented solutions using the most modern technical innovations.

Federation Tower: height, description

Federation Tower is located on In Europe it is one of the tallest modern buildings.

Such a height of the Federation Tower is not usual for the appearance of Moscow. "Moscow City" includes two high-rise buildings "East" and "West", united by a common six-story stylobate. The floors of this grand complex house beautiful luxury apartments (residential) and modern offices.

The entire structure covers an area of about 10,000 square meters. meters. The project area (total) is 443,000 sq. m. meters.

The height of the “Federation Tower” in Moscow called “West” is 243 meters. The 95-floor Vostok tower is about 374 meters high. This is one of the tallest skyscrapers not only in Russia, but also in Europe. It should be noted here that even the tallest building on the planet today, the Burj Khalifa, has 10 fewer elevators than the Russian Federation Tower, which has 67.

The Federation Tower is impressive and magnificent. The height with the spire, the construction of which was eventually abandoned, would have been 506 meters. According to the project, this was supposed to be “Tower C”.

Location

The building is located on the 13th section of Moscow City, the capital's most modern business center. The nearest metro stations in this area are “Mezhdunarodnaya”, “Delovoy Tsentr” and “Vystavochnaya”. The height of this unique structure allows it to be seen from almost all areas of the city of Moscow.

Builders, decoration

The builders of the project are CJSC Federation Tower. The project itself was developed by the architect together with his German colleague Peter Schweger.

The designer of the project is the Thornton Tomasetti company (American), which at one time worked on the projects of 6 buildings that were included in the top 10 “Tallest Buildings in the World.” This company also developed a project for the huge Kingdom Tower, which is currently being built in Saudi Arabia. This structure, after completion of construction, will be the tallest on the planet. The height of the tower is more than 1000 meters. The “Federation” is small in comparison.

The contractor is the well-known company Renaissanse Construction (Türkiye). It has more than 500 structures and buildings, the total area of which was about 15 million square meters. meters in many countries: Libya, Austria, Turkmenistan, Switzerland, Russia, Belarus, etc.

The complex was developed by the Chinese concern Yuanda, which is a world leader in the production of materials for these types of glass work.

Australian, German, Swiss and other foreign companies also took part in the construction.

From the history of construction

The laying of the “West” tower of the Moscow modern complex began back in 2006. Its construction was completed in 2008.

Construction of the Vostok Tower began in 2007. It was erected to the 91st floor in 2014 (the height of the Federation Tower at that time reached 343 meters). In December 2014, all construction of the towers was completed. Full glazing of the tower was completed in the spring of 2015.

All engineering work was completed by the end of 2015 (December). The planned completion date for all work and commissioning of the complex is 2016 (summer).

Offices and a shopping gallery are located in the stylobate zone of the structure. The main part of the Federation Tower territories is occupied by business offices: in the western tower - from 1 to 46 floors, in the eastern tower - 1-60 and 63-68 floors (magnificent sky offices). 287 thousand sq. meters - the total area of offices.

The 61st floor of the West tower is occupied by the Sky club, and the 62nd floor by the Sixty restaurant. On the upper floors of the Federation Tower there are luxury residential apartments. Platinum apartments are located in the Vostok building from floors 90 to 95. From the 95th floor of the building there are beautiful panoramic views of the city.

Apartments

The total area of all residential apartments is 78,000 thousand square meters. meters. The building of the "West" complex has apartments with areas ranging from 80 to 350 sq. m. meters with 3.5 meter ceilings.

The eastern tower has residential apartments, the total area of which ranges from 80 to 2300 (this is the territory of an entire floor) sq. m. meters, with a ceiling height of 5.5 m.
Federation Tower is a modern skyscraper with residential apartments in the very center of the Moscow City business zone. The height of the Federation Tower (Moscow City) is quite impressive.

In conclusion about the transport accessibility of the Federation Tower

Thanks to its well-thought-out location, the complex is accessible from all sides of the city. You can get to it through Krasnogvardeisky passage, the Third Transport Ring, Krasnopresnenskaya embankment and Kutuzovsky prospect. Just three minutes from the complex there is the Mezhdunarodnaya metro station.

In the Federation Tower "Vostok" of the Moscow City business complex, it is possible to rent offices and executive class apartments with panoramic views of Moscow. Federation Tower is two skyscrapers in the same architectural style with a total area of 450,000 m². The height of the Vostok tower is 94 floors, the area of office space is more than 100,000 m². Offices for rent in the Federation Tower "Vostok" are available on floors 2 - 60. The ceiling height in the rooms is 3.5 m.

The Vostok Tower is a modern triangular-shaped building with a continuous glazed façade and developed infrastructure. From the lower tiers of the Federation Tower there is access to the central core of the MIBC Moscow City, the Afimall shopping center and underground parking for 6,000 cars.

Surrounding areas

The business center is located in the Presnensky district in the center of the business district on the embankment of the same name with berths for yachts and helipads. Direct access to the Third Transport Ring is provided from the complex. Lively Kutuzovsky Prospekt and Krasnaya Presnya Street are a 5-minute drive away. Within walking distance are the theater-workshop of Pyotr Fomenko, Krasnaya Presnya Park, numerous cafes, restaurants, and hotels.

There are two metro stations on the territory of MIBC Moscow-City - Vystavochnaya and Mezhdunarodnaya. Public transport stops nearby. The Bagration pedestrian bridge connects the business center with Kutuzovsky Prospekt.

On the 95th floor of the East Tower, at an altitude of 374 meters from the ground, the last cubic meter of concrete was poured into the monolithic frame of the Federation Tower business complex, which will become the tallest building in Europe.

This skyscraper has no analogues in any country in the world: it is equipped with high-speed elevators, an automated ventilation and air conditioning system, energy-efficient windows that ensure a comfortable stay indoors, and other innovative technologies.

The general director of Federation Tower CJSC spoke about the scope of work carried out and the uniqueness of the complex in an interview with a correspondent of the Moscow Construction Complex portal. Mikhail Smirnov.

- Mikhail Yuryevich, what work has already been completed, what still needs to be completed and in what time frame?

We have completed monolithic work on the construction of the Federation Tower. In March 2015, the skyscraper will be completely glazed. The creation of the tower's top will be completed in September, and we plan to complete work on the engineering systems in December. We plan to commission the skyscraper in the summer of 2016.

- How many people are working at this construction site today and in what mode?

"Federation Tower"

Construction of the Federation Tower is carried out around the clock, without breaks or weekends. Builders work in three shifts. About 850 people work at the site every day.

- How is the safety of construction workers ensured when working at height?

Applicable to any construction strict rules on safety precautions. And the construction of a skyscraper is no exception.

All builders undergo safety training before receiving permission to work at height. Helmets, special shoes, bright markings on clothing - this is just a small list of mandatory safety measures. Temporary boundary fences, guardrails and handrails were erected along the perimeter of the floors under construction; unglazed floors were covered with mounting mesh. A number of specialists necessarily use climbing equipment and insurance.

The general contractor for the construction of the Federation Tower is the Turkish company Renaissance Construction, one of the leaders in the field of construction with extensive experience in the construction of high-rise buildings. We trust their professionalism. Nevertheless, specialists from Mosgosstroynadzor (part of the structure of the Moscow Construction Complex - Ed.) constantly monitor the construction site.

How long does it take to build one floor of a skyscraper? And what is the height limit for the construction of such a tower, taking into account existing technologies, norms and regulations?

The pace of construction of the Federation Tower is three floors per month. This building has a total of 100 floors, five of which are underground. 95 ground floors of the building. Modern construction technologies, including monolithic ones, make it possible today to erect tall buildings of any complexity. For example, in Saudi Arabia, the start of construction of the 1000-meter-high Kingdom Tower skyscraper, which will become the tallest in the world, has been announced.

Today, the largest high-rise building in the world is the Burj Khalifa in Dubai (United Arab Emirates), it looks like a stalagmite. Its height is 828 meters.

Tallest buildings in the world

I can also cite the example of the John Hancock Center in the American city of Chicago. This is a 100-story skyscraper, main feature which lies in its hollow structure, resembling a large quadrangular column. As of January 2008, it was the 5th tallest in the United States and the 18th tallest in the world. Its height reaches 457.2 meters.

These buildings were erected using completely different systems and technologies. The idea, concept is the basis of the project. And then - design and construction, which largely depend on the terrain and the stability of the platform. Even climatic features influence the project.

The standards for the construction of all skyscrapers are more or less similar and at the same time differ. But, as you know, one of the main requirements for such high-rise buildings is to ensure sustainability. Many examinations, checks, and tests are carried out. For example, to check the stability under wind loads, the design of a project on a reduced scale is “blown through” in special laboratories.

It is believed that the Federation Tower will be the strongest skyscraper in the world by the time all work is completed. This is true?

Indeed, the Federation Tower is the most durable skyscraper. And here's why: for its construction, class B90 concrete was used, which is twice as strong as usual. The decision to build the flagship tower from this type of concrete was made at the design stage of the facility. We are confident that if any object from outside hits the building, or if any force strikes, nothing will happen to the tower. I would also like to note that when carrying out monolithic work, our builders used only those materials that were agreed upon in the project. Quality, safety, reliability are the main thing. Federation Tower is a flagship project in every sense.

The basis for it is the foundation, which is based on a massive concrete slab. 14 thousand cubic meters were spent on pouring the slab. meters of concrete, which is recorded in the Guinness Book of Records. This concrete would be enough to fill five football fields in a one-meter layer!

Another example: the stability of both buildings (the Federation Tower complex consists of the East and West towers. - Ed.) is ensured by a powerful concrete core with 1.4-meter walls at the base, as well as 25 perimeter columns penetrating both towers from the foundation to the top floor. Each column at the base is 2 x 1.4 meters. Every 25-30 floors in the Federation Tower there are outrigger floors (metal structures that serve to redistribute the load from the upper floors to the lower ones. - Ed.). They give buildings additional stability.

I would like to emphasize that during the construction of the Federation Tower, the most stringent building standards in the world were applied. Control of construction technologies is carried out by Mosgosstroynadzor, as well as a number of leading construction research institutes: Research Institute of Concrete and Reinforced Concrete, Research Institute of Building Physics, Central Research and Design Institute of Building Metal Structures named after. Melnikova, State Specialized Design Institute.

- And from a security point of view, can the Federation Tower also be considered a leader?

Unconditional. The business complex has several of its own security systems installed: security, fire protection, a monitoring system for the condition of engineering equipment (water supply, air conditioning, ventilation, heating, lighting, etc.), a remote access control system (compliance with the regime of movements on site) and video surveillance.

The Federation Tower has firefighting elevators that are designed to both evacuate people and lift emergency services in an emergency. They continue to work even when all other elevators in the skyscraper are stopped. There is a fire escape equipped with emergency lighting and smoke ventilation.

On the minus first floor of the Federation Tower there is a central control room. Monitors occupy an entire wall there; this is where information from all systems and sensors comes. Specialists are on duty 24 hours a day.

Fire system sensors react to any changes in temperature and smoke. And the operator on duty in the control room makes a decision based on incoming information whether this is a normal situation or an emergency. If necessary, voice and sound warning systems are activated.

I note that the Federation Tower has several security zones. These are premises intended for the evacuation of people. In general, the entire complex is divided into several fire zones. Even building structures (walls and ceilings built using special fire-resistant materials), a deluge curtain (a water fire extinguishing system) and automatic fire curtains will become a barrier to the spread of fire in an emergency - in an inactive state they are not visible, they are usually built into ceiling, used in elevator areas and passages.

Hundreds of CCTV cameras have been installed. Video monitoring is carried out in public areas - in adjacent areas, galleries, halls, elevator areas, etc.

- How many elevators are there in the Federation Tower?

TWIN series elevator

There are 67 elevators in our complex. This is more than the world's tallest skyscraper, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which has 57 elevators! Their average speed in the Federation Tower is eight meters per second.

Tell us more about the façade of the complex, which is entirely made of glass. It is known that unusually wide double-glazed windows “on the floor” were used, about 2.5 meters high, opening a panoramic view of Moscow.

The windows in the Federation Tower are the tallest and widest. There are no crossbars or other structures that interfere with the panoramic view. At this site we applied latest systems glazings specially designed by specialists Chinese company, a world leader in the production of glass facades. Double-glazed windows have increased strength, which ensures maximum safety for people, and also have increased noise insulation, reflect the sun's rays, and protect from ultraviolet radiation.

In addition, they are energy efficient and maintain an optimal temperature in the building. This means that in summer glass prevents the air in the room from overheating, and in winter it reduces the flow of heat outside, maintaining the microclimate of the apartment or office. This was achieved due to the fact that the facade of the building, for the first time in Russia, was made using the technology of structural glazing with double-glazed windows filled with argon (a gas without color, taste or smell. - Ed.).

On the facade of the Vostok tower, for example, more than nine thousand double-glazed windows were used, each of which is individual and has its own serial number. The piece approach to the production of double-glazed windows is due to two factors - large facade glazing used for the first time in Russia, as well as the architectural shape of the building, tapering upward, which provides for facades of different sizes depending on the floor.

By the way, the facades of the Vostok tower are being installed at a rate of three floors per month.

- Will there be any difficulties when cleaning the facades?

An innovative hidden facade cleaning system, which will be installed at the Federation Tower for the first time in Russia, will completely replace industrial climbers.

This system is built into the structure of the skyscraper itself and into ordinary life absolutely invisible. When washing a skyscraper, a special system of “mini-cranes” extends from the roof of the building, which allows you to quickly deliver equipment and organize washing of facades in any of the most inaccessible parts of the tower. Such a replacement of the already familiar “landing force” of industrial climbers is one of the signs of a civilized skyscraper, for which regular washing is a sign of good manners. And for owners of offices and apartments - a guarantee of always clean glass, which is fundamentally important for people who choose the Federation Tower for the best panoramic view in Moscow.

- How is the building’s ventilation and air conditioning system designed?

The Federation Tower has its own automated ventilation and air conditioning system. Additionally, each apartment can be equipped with Smart Home technology.

Energy saving in the Federation business complex is based on the most modern technological developments. The Federation Tower uses a heat recovery system that is unique to Russia. This energy-saving technology is based on the principle of reusing the heat from the building's exhaust air to preheat fresh supply air. This allows you to save a significant amount of energy.

In addition, an automated building management system allows excess heat and cold to be pumped from one part of the building to another, ensuring minimal energy consumption. This was made possible thanks to the installation of variable pressure hydraulic systems. In addition, throughout the complex there are special sensors that record changes in temperature, light, and the presence of people and react to these changes.

All these technologies are used in the Federation Tower business complex and are unique to Russian market. Our system has already proven its effectiveness: during the abnormal heat in the summer of 2013 and 2014, we did not receive a single complaint from our tenants and residents.

- I wonder what record low temperature the thermometer can drop to at the height of the 90th floor?

At the height of the 95th floor, the air temperature in winter is about 5 degrees lower than on the ground.

- What is the volume of investment in your project? How much do such objects usually cost in the world and how do they pay for themselves?

The cost of construction of both skyscrapers of the Federation Tower complex is $1.2 billion. For comparison: the budget for the construction of the tallest tower in the world, Burj Khalifa, was $1.5 billion.

- What, in your opinion, is the uniqueness of the Federation Tower?

- “Federation Tower” is the highest status and a unique way of life. It was here that the latest “twin” elevator systems were installed for the first time in Russia, allowing the use of two high-speed elevator cabins in one shaft, which increases the volume of passenger transportation by 1.7 times.

During the construction of the Federation Tower complex, almost all energy-efficient technologies used in global construction were used.

A large transport hub will appear in the City, which will unite ground transport, two metro lines, and the Small Ring railway, Third transport ring, helipad and will provide access to river transport
