Fishing is popular everywhere, and Crimea is no exception to the rule. Not only is the peninsula surrounded on all sides by sea waters, but on its territory there are many lakes and rivers in which different types of fish are found.
It would be stupid not to take advantage of such generous natural gifts, which local residents and tourists do with pleasure. Fishing in Crimea is one of the most exciting activities you can plan for your next vacation.
Thanks to the mild climate of Crimea, the coasts of the Azov and Black Seas do not freeze in winter, so sea fishing in Crimea flourishes all year round. Dozens of years of practice have shown where the most “fishy” places are, and we will reveal the most popular of them:
Local fishermen use the usual fishing rods for sea fishing from the shore, and for open water they recommend renting a good spinning rod.
There are many lakes, ponds, reservoirs and rivers of various sizes on the peninsula. Of course, the volume of the catch depends on the luck and experience of the fisherman.
You can sit by the lake with a fishing rod for free in the following villages and hamlets:
If you are new to this business, it is better to use paid fishing services, thanks to which you will get access to well-stocked reservoirs and will definitely not be disappointed in your endeavor. In such places you can easily catch carp, pike perch, bream, crucian carp, carp or pike, and grass carp. Here is a list of the most fishing places:
Some farms breed Crimean trout: there you can catch a couple of them and give them to a local chef for cooking. There are also private ponds in Crimea, where fishing is not cheap, but the results will delight you. You can catch grass carp, mirror carp, and large pike. Here is a list of villages and hamlets where there are private fish farms and ponds:
In most of the places listed above, paid fishing is allowed only on weekends. If you want to get serious about fishing, sitting with a fishing rod on the shore every day, then you should stop in one of the fishing villages of Crimea.
These bases operate all year round, seven days a week. For a low fee, you can rent a house here and purchase a fishing subscription in local reservoirs. Your catch can be prepared in the kitchen. Here is a list of verified places:
Fans of underwater fishing in Crimea should go to Cape Tarkhankut, where the water is clear as a tear, and the reefs and caves along the coast are home to many different fish (mullet, mullet, stingrays, flounder).
Balaklava is no less a fishy place for spearfishing. The clear waters with a rocky bottom are home to bluefish, sea bass, mullet and horse mackerel.
In general, you can dive underwater and fish in Crimea in any place where fishermen sit off the coast.
To avoid getting into an awkward situation and ruining your vacation due to problems with the law, follow the following rules for fishing in Crimea on lakes and at sea:

Green or ecotourism is becoming increasingly popular. Leisure enthusiasts increasingly prefer hiking and fishing rather than excursion tours. And this is completely justified: what could be better than fishing on the seashore in Crimea?
Of course, fishing by the sea is the main occupation of a fisherman. The choice of freshwater bodies of water on the peninsula is small, so beginners, athletes and professionals try their hand at the watery depths of the Black and Azov Seas.
If you are planning to fish in a freshwater body of water - a reservoir or pond, be prepared for the owner to ask you for a fee for such a service. If you are going to fish on the reservoir, purchase a special ticket, and before you start fishing on the pond, discuss the issue with the owner.
The catch of fishermen from freshwater bodies is represented by fish from the family:
Experienced fishermen try their hand at mountain fishing under extreme conditions. But, despite this, the sea remains the main place for fishing on the peninsula.
Crimean sea fishing is conventionally divided into three areas:
Each fishing region has its own specifics and fishing conditions. And for those who couldn’t catch anything, a restaurant that specifically specializes in fish dishes opens its doors.
On the Crimean Peninsula, three types of fishing are secretly distinguished:

Visiting fishermen look at sea fishing as exotic, but such an activity when casting from the shore does not always live up to expectations. Taking a boat out to the open sea, where there are bigger fish, is another matter. A boat trip combined with a favorite activity is what creates an unforgettable experience for a tourist for the whole year.
There are plenty of places where you can cast a fishing rod. Fishing by the sea in this regard is simple; all the fisherman needs to do is get to the sea and cast a fishing rod, and consider that the deal is in the bag.
By choosing the right place for fishing, you can reel in a good catch from the pier or shore without going out into the open sea.
Fishing from the Crimean shores is unlimited seasonally, since neither the Azov nor the Black Sea practically freezes in winter. But still, a beginner in fishing would benefit from information about where and at what time certain fish are caught, and what bait is best to use for a good bite.
The waters of the Southeast coast are rich in representatives of the Black Sea ichthyofauna. The “hunting” season for fish opens in September, and an active and constant bite is observed along the coastline from the village of Primorsky to the village of Beregovoe. While in this area, you should pay special attention

The South Coast is the main concentration of fishing villages. The best fishing is in Laspi Bay. For those interested in serious fishing, you will need to go deep into the sea by boat.
On the Western Crimean coast, off the rocky shores, it is easy to catch fish species traditional for these waters. Underwater fishing is popular in Tarkhankut.
In general, in the salty waters of the sea you can catch both trophy fish and small fish for fish soup. In the Black Sea waters, migratory fish that go to spawn are often found.
Pike perch is a favorite place for fishermen. Most often there is no place to get through due to the influx of fishing enthusiasts. There is a lot of mackerel in these places and, having visited the city, at the beginning of autumn it is difficult not to notice how local fishermen boast of their excellent catch. The best place for catching horse mackerel is the village of Novy Svet near Sudak. Being in this city, it’s worth learning more about
It is important to prepare for sea fishing: choose the right bait, time and place for fishing.
When choosing a fishing spot in Sudak, pay attention to expert advice.

In general, you can go fishing in Crimea for free. Access to the sea from the shore is unlimited and knowing the fishing spots, choose the one that you like best and go enjoy the activity.
You will have to pay for fishing if you choose a private pond, a protected area or a tourist center that specializes in organizing fishing competitions.
Paid fishing in combination with relaxation by the sea and accommodation in a tourist center includes not only pleasant time spent doing your favorite activity on the seashore, but also night gatherings around the fire.

Freshwater fishing in Crimea is available in:
Picturesque mountains, warm sea, delicious young wine, ancient ruins and impressive imperial residences - the reasons to visit Crimea can be listed endlessly.
But you should definitely add excellent fishing to this list. This is one of the specialties of Crimea, which is mentioned in most guidebooks.
A trip to the sunny peninsula is an ideal way to combine business with pleasure: bring your family to the sea and, at the same time, devote time to your favorite hobby.
In addition, Crimea is the most convenient and accessible place to join the joys of sea fishing. The same thing, but abroad, will cost much more impressive money.
Sea fishing in Crimea offers many catching places located near tourist locations, as well as impressive trophies. However, going out to sea on a boat and doing what you love in peace and quiet is worth a lot in itself.
There are two types of fishing in Crimea: freshwater and sea. The first is considered quite mediocre, and it is recommended to practice it on paid reservoirs. The second is much more interesting and convenient for most tourists. Separately, it is worth mentioning spearfishing, which is also very popular in Crimea.
There are three main regions for sea fishing on the peninsula:
Donks are considered the most popular gear among local residents. With the help of bottom fishing rods you can make long casts and catch fish at great depths, but what else do you need when sea fishing? Spinning is no less popular among tourists.
Flying rods So, the first rule when choosing gear for sea fishing. Without regret, we immediately leave all the fly fishing rods at home. They are not needed. The only thing you can catch with them is gobies on the breakwaters, but even there it’s more convenient to pull these unfortunate gobies on a piece of fishing line wound around your finger. So don't take them with you. Bolognese rods But Bolognese rods, or as they were called before - telescopic rods with rings and a reel - are suitable for us. They can catch anything and everything. You can also take a match rod, but it will not work, as they say, in proper mode. Therefore, it is optimal to have with you an inexpensive, “glass” Bolognese fishing rod, 4 to 5 meters long, equipped with a reel, with a fishing line with a diameter of 0.2 – 0.25 mm. Why is this optimal? I'll explain.
Feeder rod The feeder rod is in no way inferior to the Bolognese rod in terms of convenience, and in some respects it surpasses it. You can fish with a feeder both from the bottom and with a float. You can fish using a Tyrolean stick or sbirulino, using a tyrant from a boat or yawl, and you can also troll if the need arises. That’s why I usually take two feeder rods with me when going to sea. These are the fastest (hard) forms, one is 4 meters long and the other is 4.4 meters. This is enough for you to feel completely ready to catch it on the Black Sea, when hunting for any fish, from goby to bonito.
Spinning rod Taking spinning rods to sea will only ruin them. Fishing with a good spinning rod like a donkey is nonsense, like fishing with a fishing rod - it’s too short. The only correct use is trolling. But the opportunity to troll at sea is not always possible, and although this fishing is very interesting, it is specific and not the most common. Moreover, all the needs of trolling fishing are completely covered by feeder rods. Therefore, the conclusion is clear: we don’t take spinning rods with us either. So, you prepare your gear and take with you feeder or Bolognese rods with reels.
Without a reel, at sea, there is simply nothing to do. It is needed both when fishing from the shore and when fishing from a boat. In fact, imagine that you took with you your favorite 4-meter fly fishing rod, which, faithfully and truly, all your life, perfectly caught crucian carp in the neighboring pond. We stood at the water's edge, that is, where the wave does not wash over our legs. Well, where will you throw the tackle? In the best case, 8 meters from the point where you are standing. As a result, the hook will be at a depth of 15 centimeters in the surf, and you will never get a bite. Therefore, there must be at least some kind of coil. But some kind, she is some kind. When choosing a reel, you need to be guided by how you intend to fish. If from the shore, you will need a good inertia-free reel, no less than 5000 series, preferably with a baitrunner, equipped with a cord with a diameter of 0.15 - 0.18 mm. Such a reel and such a cord, when using a 4-meter feeder rod and a sinker weighing, for example, 100 grams, will allow you, without much difficulty, to place the bait at a distance of a hundred meters from the shore. This means that you can already count on a catch.
If you fish from the side of a ship, then such a reel will also be suitable, but it would be even better to use a regular, inertial, “Neva” reel. I'll explain why. Inertia-free, of course, when fishing from the side of a vessel, is very convenient. The weight quickly reaches the desired depth, it has a clip that can be used if a school of fish is found at a certain depth, it is more convenient to twist it, let it go and you can reel it in quickly. But, there is one BUT (with a capital B). This reel requires very careful handling. One immersion of the coil in water or even just getting the coil into splashes from a wave and after 2 days you have no coil. There's nothing to be done about it. Sea water is an aggressive environment in itself, and when it dries, the salt will be released in the form of small white crystals and, as a result, the mechanism already contains a high-quality abrasive paste. The “Neva” reel is beyond praise in this regard. And its main advantage is that it is very easy to understand. Once. I removed the drum, washed it and the base under the tap, in fresh water and that’s it, the reel is like new again. I use Nevsky, which has 2 micro ball bearings pressed into the drum. Cheap, practical, convenient. The coil is practically indestructible. If there is no Nevka, you can use an inertia-free one, but you need to take care of her health in advance. Namely, you need to buy very pure solid oil, there is one that is almost white or slightly yellowish. Remove the cover from the inertia-free motor and completely fill the coil with solid oil, so that there are no voids under the cover at all. With such lubrication, the reel suffers less.
There's not much to say here. Everyone decides for themselves what to wind and how much. The only important note. After fishing, without allowing it to dry, rinse the cord or line with fresh water. Moreover, if the fishing line tolerates salt, then the cord very quickly loses its quality and if it is not washed, then you can no longer take it from the sea and, upon returning home, boldly and cheerfully go to the store for a new one.
Few fishermen with whom I have spoken know that the use of stainless hooks in sea fishing is prohibited. Therefore, we immediately discard our favorite anodized, chemically sharpened ones - Gamakatsu, Owner, Kosadaka, Sherpa, Siran, Cobra, Winner, and take something cheaper and simpler. This approach to hooks is explained simply. If the leader or fishing line breaks, the fish gets rid of the rusting hook faster and has a better chance of surviving. Let's be imbued with the ideas of humanism together and accept this prohibition as a given. Therefore, we stock up on cheap, rusting hooks No., according to Soviet numbering 5 - 9, according to international number - 14 - 16.
We choose hooks with a long shank. This is important for the reason that any, even the smallest sea fish, has a bad habit of swallowing any hook, “I don’t even want to.” And, a hook with a long shank, although not much, still makes the fisherman’s life easier. So, we sorted out the gear. You boarded a train, plane, bus and, here it is - the Black Sea! Since everything is in order with your gear, we don’t worry about it anymore. But there are still a number of unresolved questions. The first is - where to fish? The answer to this question can only be obtained on the spot. How? Watch the local fishermen. If everyone is sitting in the port, on the embankment, “you’re on your way there.” Wander around, look, find out. This is the easiest way to get used to the situation and understand what to catch, with what and how. If you see boats standing on the water from the shore, you will have to run. Although, in this case too, we can resolve the issue. It is clear that they are fishing from boats. It’s impossible to come and have a look, but the boats leave somewhere and return somewhere! It turns out that you need to find a pier and come there in the evening, a couple of hours before sunset. For amateur vessels, navigation at sea at night is prohibited. And, before the beginning of twilight, they will go to the pier in a dense flock, to their places. Then continue as usual. Ask and find out. As a rule, fishermen are willing to share information. How many friends were made, how many joint fishing trips began with an innocent question - “Well, how are you today?” Once communication is established, you can always find out what is being caught, with what and for what purpose. Who is catching? Who can I rent a boat or yawl from? How much? Well, that's all.
Shore fishing at sea is a thankless task. A lot of problems immediately arise here. The first and main thing is that in the sea, as well as in the river, all fish, with the exception of pelagic fish, do not like open places. And our “freshwater” fishermen do not accept any other kind of fishing other than donkey and float fishing.
It is true that the easiest way to catch fish at sea from the shore is to use an ordinary donka. How does she look? Let's figure it out. Take a telescopic rod with rings. We install an inertia-free reel on it, equipped with a cord, for example, with a diameter of 0.16 millimeters, and thread the cord through the rings. And, at its end, we make a regular loop for the sinker. At a distance of 10 centimeters from the end of the cord, we make another loop for the leash. And 2 more loops each 10 centimeters higher than the previous one. So now you have a rig with loops, one for the sinker and 3 for the leaders. There is no need to worry, according to maritime rules, a maximum of 6 leashes can be used on the gear. In this case, of course, you can fish with only one tackle. But you don’t even need 6 leashes, it’s unnecessary. You will get tired of hooking the bait, and even if there is a bite, then three will be enough, and if there is none, then even 100 will not help. This is a freshwater rule that works just as well in the sea as in the river. Let's equip ourselves further. In the end loop on the cord, using the “loop-to-loop” method, without any fasteners or swivels, which will rust instantly in sea water and break in a couple of days, we place a sinker, for example, weighing 80 grams. Now, you need to tie three short leashes. The length of the leashes should be short, 7, maximum 10 centimeters. We knit leashes and install them on our tackle, again, using the “loop to loop” method. All! The tackle is ready.
We bait it (we’ll talk about bait later) and with all our strength, technically and correctly cast it as far from the shore as possible. The top immediately begins to beat and, in a minute, you are a real sea fisherman, clutching a treasured sea trophy in your hand! Where to throw it. As already mentioned, sea fish, especially bottom fish, are rarely found in open places where it is convenient to fish. Therefore, it is best for you to fish in inconvenient places, i.e. near stones, in rock crevices, near algae. But you have to catch it nearby. In fact, if you throw our bottom into a stone crevice, then the bite, of course, will happen almost instantly, but, with almost a 100% guarantee, the tackle will catch on the stones, the sinker will fall into the crack, the fish will lead into the algae... All the same, the tackle will break. So you have to choose what is more important: the bite or the tackle.
The second method is a regular float, adjusted for sea conditions. We put the reel with fishing line, for example, 0.25 mm. Very large adjustments with a load capacity of 20 g. Naturally, a 20-gram sinker, a long leash, about a meter in length, and a hook, according to international numbering No. 14 - 16. After that, we set the depth to about a meter from the sinker and we can fish. We cast farther, in the sense, to the maximum possible distance from the shore that can be cast using such equipment. And we wait. We hook if the float disappears from the surface or begins to rush through the waves with frantic force. Poplavchanka is used very rarely in the Black Sea, for example, for catching garfish. They catch with a fishing rod and horse mackerel. But, almost always from the berths, at a sufficient depth where it is guaranteed, it appears starting in May and lasts throughout the summer. But it’s also more convenient to catch it on a bet (we’ll talk about this later) with a telescopic rod without a float.
Here one could easily begin to list all the Black Sea fish. But this will not be true. Of course, there are places where you can catch glossa, or even flounder, with a donkey, from the shore, but I doubt that this will happen right away. And besides, both glossa and flounder are listed in the Red Book and simply cannot be caught in the Black Sea. Here you don’t need to deceive yourself and you need to be prepared for the fact that your main prey will be: Greenfinch or wrasse - Crenilabrus tinea, and if you’re lucky, Black Sea mullet or red mullet - Mullus barbatus ponticus. Most likely it will be a greenfinch. The fish is very beautiful, not very tasty, but it is ubiquitous, curling in small schools in algae and crevices among stones. The smaller the fish in the catch, the less tasty the cooked fish will be. But, for fish soup, it’s quite tolerable, i.e. edible. Sultana, schooling fish. They say it grows up to half a meter. I, however, have never seen such people. It was believed that 15-20 centimeters, i.e. slightly larger than the palm of your hand - this is a very decent fish. What else? Gobies. With long casts - scorpionfish, sea dragon, possibly mullet. That's probably all.
If you have a yawl, yacht, boat or boat at your disposal, then life changes dramatically for the better. I would like to immediately frankly warn the owners of air mattresses and small, single-seat inflatable boats. It will be cheaper if you don't use them for fishing. It’s simply scary to be in a single elastic band, even for an adapted person with a wave of 2-3 points. In addition, there are currents and winds in the sea that are not to be trifled with; human beings cannot cope with them. Therefore, look for something more reliable. This must be something with an echo sounder. Or rather, not like that! If you are happy with the greenfinch as a trophy, then you can fish in or near the stones. But, if you want horse mackerel, whiting (haddock), weasel or bluefish, then you can’t do without an echo sounder.
This happens because these fish keep in schools, which are also constantly moving. Between the flocks, it’s almost empty. There are no fish. Therefore, an echo sounder is needed to detect the school and know the depth at which it is moving. When a school is discovered, you can fish very successfully, intensively and a lot, especially if a school of horse mackerel or whiting is discovered. At the same time, remember that in order to avoid problems with inspection, you should not have more than 3 kg of fish per angler.
Almost all the fishermen you see on the water will fish “by tyrants.” The name, of course, is not the most euphonious, but don’t be fooled, this tackle is effective and very catchy. Tyrant, consists of a fishing rod, usually a “glass” telescopic fishing rod 4 meters long, one hundred meters of fishing line, diameter from 0.3 to 0.35 mm, stakes with hooks, pubescent threads, sequins or threads with sequins and an end sinker, weighing from 50 to 100 grams. Usually, river fishermen are deceived by the simplicity of the design. But not you... Tyrant, this is not an easy tackle.
You can verify this instantly by the catch, when catching, for example, horse mackerel, standing on one side, a meter from the local fisherman. In tyrant fishing, the diameter of the main line, the weight of the sinker, the color of the binding on the hook, and even the method of tying the hook matter. A correctly tied hook springs on its leash and oscillates as if on a spring. Therefore, the right tyrant for a given place is simply a work of art. You can have your own fishing rod, reel and fishing line, but you will have to buy a fishing rod. Of course, you can fish with something you make yourself, but in any case it will be worse, both in terms of convenience and in terms of catchability. Therefore, it is best to buy a bet for a tyrant. This can be done in any seaside fishing store or at a local market, where, as a rule, someone will certainly do this. Usually they sell bets on a 0.2 mm fishing line with 10 hooks, which clearly violates the rules of amateur fishing.
According to the rules, only 6 hooks are allowed. Few people pay attention to this, but if you want everything to be right, just cut off the extra hooks. I dare to assure you that you most likely will not notice the difference in catch when fishing with 6 and 10 hooks. If there is a bite, then both tackles will work approximately the same. But then, you
You will gain peace of mind and confidence that everything is being done according to the rules. It costs a lot! At the same time, remember that the bet is consumable tackle, like silicone or jig heads. The bet often breaks down. When you hit the rocks, when a bluefish approaches and simply cuts off the hooks, or if instead of a horse mackerel, something really serious is caught, a rock perch or at least 2 skarpins weighing 300-500 grams each. In addition, sea fish, which have teeth, are toothy in earnest and cut off everything that is possible and what is not. Perhaps you thought that you could bet on a thicker fishing line? Not so! Use a thicker line and you won't get any bites. The reason is that sea water very transparent and visibility can reach 10 meters. Therefore, using a fishing line thicker than 0.2 mm immediately leads to an order of magnitude reduction in the number of bites. So you have to choose either the bite or the tackle. True, the fishing line with a diameter of 0.2 mm is used only at the bet; the main fishing line can be anything.
When using a cord, place 2-4 meters of fishing line in front of the bet so that the cord does not scare away the fish. Ideally, hooks should be rusty, although stainless steel is better, it is prohibited because...
A fish that has broken the tackle will not survive in its body with such a hook. Now about the fishing itself. It's simple. We sail from the shore, turn on the echo sounder, look for a depth of 30-40 meters, there is a school of fish on it. We throw the tackle into the water. The technique of fishing with a tyrant is very simple. The tackle is lowered into the water to the depth at which a school of fish is found and the angler begins to raise and lower the rod. The rod stroke should be 1.5 - 2 meters. The bite is felt immediately, by hand, as a push or a series of jerks. It’s very good to stop the tackle after the first push. If this is a school of horse mackerel, whiting or bluefish, then the fish that has bitten, tugging at the stake, causes the hooks with bait to twitch, which provokes the fish surrounding the stake to attack; after such a stop, usually several fish are taken out instead of one. Horse mackerel, especially if it is small (the minimum length allowed for catching is 10 cm), is often caught without bait at all. This mackerel willingly takes bare shiny hooks moving in the water or hooks wrapped in red or shiny thread. Without bait, you can successfully fish with bare hooks, but real sea fishing, of course, takes place using bait.
The most common bait when fishing in the Black Sea is rightly considered the Black Sea shrimp (Palaemon elegans) or “antennae”, as it is called in Sevastopol. Shrimp is a universal bait that all sea fish readily take. You can buy it at the bazaar. A couple of glasses, if you do not violate fishing standards, are enough for good fishing for 3 people. A shrimp is baited on each hook of the bet. Before baiting, the shrimp's tail breaks off and its head with sharp and prickly outgrowths breaks off. The body of the shrimp is put on the hook from the tail to the head with a stocking, like a worm.
The shell remains intact. The sting can be either in the shrimp’s body or come out.
This has no effect on the bite. NUANCE At the market, they usually sell yellowish (if it is not boiled, but not freshly caught) or red shrimp. The fish are biting on it. It bites normally. But, worse than a live shrimp that has a natural green color. You can catch a shrimp yourself using a small special drag of a piece of net or just a small landing net, stretching it across the grass in shallow water. Usually, five to ten passes are enough to provide yourself with bait for the day.
You can use the sea worm Nereis. The worm is scarce and difficult to obtain. It lives in silted bays and bays. They just catch him. They go into the water, about knee-deep, take out the dirt, take it to the shore and, disassembling it with their hands, take out the worms from it. Sea worms are a very good bait, respected by all sea fish without exception, but they tear very easily, hold weakly on the hook, fly off when casting and are difficult to catch.
If there is no market nearby or you do not have a landing net, then use mussels – Mytilus galloprovincialis. You can buy a jar at the store, or you can catch them yourself. Mussels are collected on rocks, piers, breakwaters and piers. You can fish for freshly collected mussels by opening the shell with a knife or simply breaking it on a stone. Try to put the mussel on the hook by piercing the hard muscle part. But mussels also don’t hold well on a hook. This bait holds a little stronger if the mussels are slightly wilted. Just leave them in the sun, when the shells open, you need to remove the clams from the shells, let them dry and hold them in the sun.
For fishing, you can use rapans of any shellfish that you can catch. This is inconvenient, and besides, rapana is delicious on its own, especially stewed with rice.
Any sea life can be used as bait. This could be fry crab meat, pieces of freshly caught fish, meat, entrails of birds and animals...etc. and so on. Ordinary maggots have proven themselves to be very good in sea fishing. If you take several portions with you on vacation, you will save yourself the trouble of finding bait, at least for the first time. Bait 2-3 of them on the hook and the bite will be there. Another way out of a difficult situation is when fishing with tyrants, using small twisters on hooks instead of bait. You can also, when fishing with long casting, drag them to the shore when fishing on the sandy bottom.
Sinker at sea, a typical consumable item. Be prepared for the fact that in places where there is an intense bite, the bottom is not sandy, but rocky and difficult. This means that losing 10 or 20 weights at sea during a fishing trip is quite common and even typical.
Typically, when fishing for tyrants, rods with an inertial reel and fishing line are used. On my trips, I used a feeder rod and a cord with a diameter of 0.16 mm. There are more bites with fishing line because it is less noticeable in clear water. But it also has disadvantages. At depths from 30 to 70 meters (for example, when fishing for Black Sea whiting, which can stay at depths of up to hundreds of meters), often the fishing line simply does not transmit a bite due to its extensibility. The cord does not have this drawback. In any case, the choice is yours, search, try, catch....

Lakes for fishing
Fishing in Crimea on lakes is possible only where the reservoir is specially stocked with fish by a person or company, and then fed. In other cases, as a result of indiscriminate fishing, the lakes are devastated and you can sit by the water for a whole day without waiting for a single bite.
To accurately determine the place where you can have a good rest and go fishing at the same time, you need to pay attention to the list of lakes that are suitable for catching various fish. Of course, you can take a risk and choose another place, but there is the possibility that the tourist will go home with an empty fish tank.
For those who want to have some fun during the cold season, winter fishing in Crimea will be a real adventure.
The situation is completely different with fishing in Crimea at sea. There is no need to look for any special places here, since there are countless of them, but fishermen still have their own rating of the best and win-win places: the Southern and South-Eastern Coast of Crimea, Donuzlav, the coast of the Azov Sea, Sivash, the Kerch Peninsula, Tarkhankut. The most important condition for successful fishing in the Crimea at sea from the shore with a spinning rod is knowing when and what kind of fish to fish for, and what kind of bait it is more active on. Considering that neither Black nor Sea of Azov do not freeze, you can indulge in fishing in any season, regardless of the weather.
Conventionally, fishing spots are divided into three areas depending on the type of fish that is caught there and the fishing method:
When catching sea fish, you should be careful, since some specimens may not be so harmless: the fish can be pricked by a thorn, which causes terrible symptoms (sea dragon), or it can bite painfully (fish - Dog).
In order to return with a catch from Sudak, knowledge of the “fishing” places is required, since casting a spinning rod on the beach will not bring the desired result. The most popular place among fishermen is Alchak-Kaya - a mountain that cuts into the sea and opens up beautiful and picturesque places for comfortable fishing. In these waters, stern variety of fish, there are a huge number of crabs, mussels, and shrimps, due to which large schools of fish are attracted here. You can catch redfish, katran, horse mackerel, garfish, and flounder. You may be hooked on options that tourists have never seen before.
Another popular place for sea fishing in the Crimea in Sudak is the city pier, which is under the Genoese fortress. Many fishermen usually gather here in the hope of a good catch. And these hopes are not empty. But if a non-native wants to go to the pier, it's worth bringing a fish finder, as due to the large number of people and passing ships, flocks can migrate.
Fishing in Demyanovka is a real pleasure, as trophy carp and smaller specimens can be hooked here. Fishermen can also boast of catching silver carp, pike, bream, crucian carp, roach, and pike perch. These places attract fishermen with their spinning festivals and fishing tournaments. That is, if you are a fishing professional (sport fishing), this is the place for you, in Crimea. Fishing from the lake shore is common here).
Fishing in Crimea in Sevastopol is a real pleasure. At any time of the year you can see both amateurs and professionals here. The “cleanest” place in the city is Kamyshovaya Bay (or Mole, as the local aborigines call it). Especially in the winter season, you can catch schools of mullet here, and then a good catch is guaranteed! You can get there on routes 14 or 95 to the Orange shopping center, then 100 meters along the road and right to the sea, then you have to walk for about 15 minutes:
Everything that is not prohibited is permitted. This also applies to fishing in Crimea 2017. In principle, you can find a “refuge” for an amateur fisherman anywhere, especially when it comes to sea fishing. Such “catching” places can be the shores of lakes, seas, rivers, or boat trips. On some reservoirs, a fisherman can be allowed to go fishing for free, but special people will closely monitor the amount of catch and the size of the fish.
So, in most cases, you are not supposed to take more than 3-5 kilograms of fish out of the water, and they should not be less than a certain size or more than that.
You can go fishing for free at:
This is where you can have a blast in terms of great catches and getting a dose of adrenaline - this is paid fishing. Prices almost everywhere are simply ridiculous (about 300 rubles per person), but the conditions and results exceed the funds allocated for them.
In most cases, paid reservoirs are overgrown with entire fishing settlements with developed infrastructure: in addition to convenient places and the opportunity to use a watercraft, the territory often has cafes, playgrounds for children, restaurants and various sports grounds. On well-maintained stocked reservoirs you can rent gear, a tent, and immediately purchase the necessary bait. After the fish is hooked, you can fry it on a rented grill and skewers, relax in the gazebo and enjoy the air, nature, and a pleasant day.
