From March 11, 2019, Tele2 services “It’s like home in Crimea” and “ Unlimited Internet in Crimea” were renamed “It’s like home on the peninsula” and “Internet on the peninsula”. All option conditions remain the same.
If you are one of those subscribers who prefer to carefully study all the used tariff plans And Additional services, before connecting them and starting to actively use them, you probably noticed that most TPs, and not only on Tele2, do not work, or operate under different conditions if the subscriber travels to the territory of the Crimea Peninsula. Yes, this is true, and a similar trend is observed in MegaFon, Beeline, and MTS, for example.
Current version. Information about services updated May 25, 2019
To begin with, I note that these offers are a service, and not separate tariffs, as a fairly large audience of the operator’s clients believes. These are options that allow subscribers to receive incoming calls to their phone number on favorable terms and use mobile internet, staying at this time on the territory of the Republic of Crimea.
The options “Like home on the peninsula” and “Internet on the peninsula” are available to all subscribers - individuals on all tariff plans, current and archived.
The option “Like home on the peninsula” must be disabled upon returning from Crimea, because funds are withdrawn daily, regardless of whether you use the service or not. The “Like at home on the peninsula” service can not be disabled, because it “works” only in Crimea and funds are debited only in the event of actual Internet access in this region.
In the 2017 season, the conditions and tariffs of Russian mobile operators communications in Crimea have changed. To make it more convenient to choose an operator, the optimal tariff and save on communications, read comparative review conditions of 4 main operators in Russia - MTS, Megafon, Beeline and Tele2.
Most Crimeans use MTS, and this despite the fact that there is no “own” MTS on the peninsula.
As for roaming tariffs, the best option is Smart group tariffs. On the Smart mini tariff you need to activate the “Everywhere at home” option. The service will cost 100 rubles. per month. This is exactly what I did before the trip (my number is Moscow).
MTS prices for roaming in Crimea
Before the trip, I subscribed (for points) to the “Everywhere at home” service for a month (less than that is impossible). And I used the connection at the home rate, nothing extra was written off. Communication worked everywhere, and we climbed to various corners of Crimea. The only thing is that my mobile Internet was turned off and I didn’t check how it worked. In all other respects, no complaints against the operator.
On Smart tariffs and Smart Unlimited you need to connect to the All Russia Smart service. It also costs 100 rubles. per month.
On the Smart+ and Smart Top tariffs, you won’t even have to connect anything additional; billing will be carried out according to the tariffs of your home region.
Megafon offers an option called “Crimea”. When you activate the option, incoming calls will be free, outgoing calls will be 5 rubles/min, SMS will be 3 rubles, Internet will be 5 rubles/1 MB. The cost of the option is 15 rubles per day. So, in fact, it’s not very profitable. However, if you are traveling for just a week, it will cost relatively little.
Without connecting the Crimea option, all incoming and outgoing calls cost 9.99 rubles/min, SMS – 4.90 rubles, Internet – 9.90 rubles/1 MB.
Roaming prices in Crimea Megafon
On the second phone on our trip to Crimea there was just a Megafon and it didn’t work. Immediately upon arrival at Simferopol airport, this annoying nuisance was discovered. Why the SIM card did not work at all remained a mystery. But we didn’t find out anything on the spot, because there was MTS at home tariffs, and, as a last resort, Beeline.
Beeline for roaming in Russia offers an excellent My Country option. Connection is only 25 rubles. one-time fee, and all incoming, outgoing and SMS for 3 rubles. But this option does not apply to the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol.
Beeline doesn’t offer anything interesting specifically for communications in Crimea. The best option is the All group tariffs. At the most economical ALL 1 tariff, for example, incoming calls will cost 1.5 rubles/min., outgoing calls – 4 rubles/min., SMS – 4.95 rubles, Internet 9.95 rubles/1MB. At the same time, everything is spent outside the package, that is, it is paid additionally.
Communication prices in Crimea Beeline
I can say that the Beeline SIM card worked fine, although we didn’t use it, but kept it just in case. But she was always in working order and caught the net.
Tele2 operator offers to activate the “Like at home in Crimea” option for holidays in Crimea. The service costs 6 rubles/day. When you activate the option, all incoming calls will be free, outgoing calls will be 5 rubles/min. SMS will cost 3.5 rubles, Internet – 5 rubles/1MB. Plus, you will need to pay a one-time connection fee of 30 rubles.

The May holidays have already died down and very little is left until the first days of summer: which means that the vacation season is just around the corner. Even when planning a trip to Crimea, vacationers ask themselves the question: what is there with mobile communications in our Crimea?
Will your phone be in roaming on the Crimean Peninsula and what are the prices for calls to the mainland? Isn’t it expensive and how are things going with mobile Internet? We will try to give answers in our article about the current cellular tariffs from the 4 main Russian cellular operators in Crimea.
Megafon subscribers who are in Crimea can use the “Crimea” option (the exception is the “Around the World” tariff plan). This option is valid when the subscriber is on the territory of the peninsula in the network of the mobile operator “K-Telecom” and is displayed on the device screen as “WIN MegaFon”. By itself, this option cannot be used when calling numbers of Ukrainian operators; in this case, the cost of the call will be calculated based on the base price of outgoing calls and SMS to Ukraine (35.00 rubles and 5.95 rubles, respectively).
The cost of mobile Internet for all types of traffic is 9.90 rubles per 1MB, rounded up to 250 KB. Detailed information about the cost of communication services of the Megafon company in Crimea and Sevastopol can be found on the official Megafon website, and you can activate the service directly in your personal account. The connected “Crimea” option is active until the subscriber disconnects the service, that is, it has an unlimited validity period.
Beeline, similar to Megafon, provides communication services in Crimea within the framework of intranet roaming based on the K-Telecom network. Despite the fact that Beeline launched the “Goodbye Roaming” campaign back in 2015, which actually meant turning off roaming throughout the Russian Federation for “All for ...” tariff plans, Sevastopol, Crimea, the Kamchatka region and some other regions of Russia were included in the list of exceptions and In 2019, their territories are subject to standard on-network roaming tariffs.
To use Beeline mobile Internet in roaming while in Crimea, VimpelCom offers two options “The most profitable Internet in roaming” (for prepaid tariffs) and “Internet Planet” (for postpaid tariffs). Both options do not require activation or deactivation and are connected only if the device connects to the network while roaming. Internet access is charged by Beeline at a price of 9.95 rubles per 1 MB, minimum session size: 50 KB.
Please note that the Beeline service “7 days of Internet for traveling around Russia” or “30 days of Internet for traveling around Russia” is NOT VALID on the territory of Crimea and Sevastopol, and the operator uses per-megabyte pricing (9.95 per megabyte). You can find more detailed information about tariffs for Beeline cellular communications in Crimea on the operator’s official website.
MTS subscribers, coming from the mainland to the peninsula, find themselves in the MTS home roaming zone and in this case, the cost of communication services for them, although it increases, is not as much as for other operators. In order for MTS subscribers to be able to use communications comfortably and save their expenses, they are invited to use the “Like at Home Everywhere” service. The main advantage of the option is free incoming messages from any region of the Russian Federation. The cost per minute of an outgoing call will be 3 rubles. To activate the service you will have to pay 30 rubles and every day a small amount from the subscriber’s local affiliation: for Moscow, for example, the daily subscriber payment for the “Like at Home Everywhere” option is 7 rubles.
Attention: the service is not automatically disabled even when the subscriber returns to his home region. The option can be deactivated using " Personal account» on the company’s website by sending an SMS to number 111 with the text 3333 or by typing the USSD code *111*3333#
With more detailed information You can find it on the official MTS website.
Mobile Internet tariffs from MTS are perhaps the most favorable. To do this, you need to activate the “SuperBit” service, which is valid throughout the Russian Federation. Instead of a daily traffic limit, MTS offers a 30-day traffic limit equal to 3GB. The cost of the option may vary depending on the subscriber’s home region: for Moscow, for example, it is 350 rubles, for regions - from 200 rubles. You can activate “SuperBit” by dialing *628# on your phone.
For its subscribers using such tariff plans as: “Very Black”, “The Blackest” and “Super Black”, the mobile operator TELE2 provides preferential tariff conditions in Crimea in 2019:
By activating the “Like at home in Crimea” service, we can get the following prices for TELE2 cellular communications in the Republic of Crimea: 0 rubles for all incoming calls, 5 rubles/min for all outgoing calls to phones in mainland Russia, SMS and MMS for all mobile numbers Russia 3.5 rubles. The cost of connecting this option is 30 rubles, and disabling is free.
Please note that the “Zero Everywhere” service, which gives an advantage when traveling within the Russian Federation, is not valid in Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
The cost of mobile Internet in the TELE2 network with the connected option “Like at home in Crimea” is 5 rubles per 1 MB of Internet traffic, which is almost two times cheaper than Beeline or Megafon.

How can we see the Crimean peninsula in terms of services mobile communications so far it stands apart and even the largest operators, fulfilling their obligations to subscribers, are forced to use the Crimean WinMobile network. This happens due to the fact that large players in the mobile industry are afraid of imposing sanctions if the network “enters” the territory of the Crimean peninsula, which in turn can result in large losses and fines for them.
A new player in the cellular communications market of Crimea has become the operator of the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Krymtelecom", which provides not only mobile communication services, but also regular telephony, and is also an Internet provider on the peninsula.
We can only hope that the current situation will receive a positive solution in the near future and residents of our huge country will be able to use cellular communications and mobile Internet even cheaper and to the fullest when coming to hospitable Crimea.
