Lenovo is a well-known Chinese manufacturer of laptops, smartphones and tablets. Lenovo is one of the five most famous and popular manufacturers of computer equipment. A modern tablet from Lenovo provides the user with a lot of possibilities, thanks to which the device can easily replace a heavy and less convenient laptop to transport. Users in online reviews cite the advantages of Lenovo devices as high quality, support for modern technologies and ergonomics.

Lenovo tablets: features and variety

First of all, the Lenovo tablet computers collected in this catalog are divided into two types, depending on the form factor of the device: tablets and transformers. The first category includes tablets created by Lenovo, which are a display enclosed in a compact body. Lenovo transformers are a more complex and modern device. Such models are equipped with a removable docking station, which, when connected, turns the device into a full-fledged replacement for a laptop. The docking station itself is equipped with a familiar computer keyboard, touchpad, additional hard drive and, sometimes, a discrete video card.

The Lenovo Yoga Tablet series models deserve special attention. The body of such models has a special seal on one side. This makes Yoga Tablet easy to hold in one hand. Depending on the operating system, tablets created by Lenovo are divided into models with Android and Windows. Android devices are equipped with Google's proprietary OS. This OS is used by many manufacturers, is available in many versions on the market and is regularly updated to improve functionality. Windows models support the same programs and applications as a classic personal computer. At the same time, you should buy such a tablet from Lenovo primarily for work or education.

How to choose a Lenovo tablet

When choosing, it is important to pay attention to the screen characteristics - diagonal and resolution. Lenovo models with a 7-8-inch screen are the most portable; they are convenient to carry in your jacket pocket or handbag. Models with a screen of 10 inches or more are more suitable for use at home or at work. These are convenient for watching movies, surfing the Internet or playing games, but due to their large dimensions they are not very convenient for transportation.

The most popular screen resolution is Full HD (1920 × 1080), which provides highly detailed images. Models with higher resolutions are considered advanced. These can indeed boast a higher quality and more detailed image, but it is important to take into account the size of the display itself - too high a resolution on a small display will make individual interface elements too small. Volume random access memory and the clock speed of the processor directly affect the speed of the device, but productive Lenovo tablets have a high price.

Lenovo is quickly growing its presence in the smartphone market, but its tablet lineup isn't particularly impressive yet. However, the company seems to be becoming more active in this market. At least the Chinese manufacturer presented the Tab S8, which for the first time among Lenovo Android tablets received Intel processor. At the same time, the device can offer good characteristics and an attractive price.

The company's previous Android tablets (such as the latest A line) were equipped with inexpensive MediaTek chips based on ARM architecture. The Tab S8 uses a 4-core x86 Intel Atom Bay Trail Z3745 processor, which operates at a frequency of 1.33 GHz (in Turbo mode - up to 1.86 GHz). The same chip is used in the latest tablets from ASUS and Acer, so Intel appears to be starting to catch up with its competitors in the Android device sector.

In addition to changing the processor, the Tab S8 received much more attractive specifications compared to previous Lenovo tablets. The device is equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of built-in flash memory (probably supplemented by a microSD slot). There is also an 8-inch screen with a resolution of 1920x1200 and One Glass Solution technology, which eliminates the gap between the touch panel and the display.

The tablet also received a pair of standard cameras: 1.6-megapixel on the front side and 8-megapixel on the back, with the latter equipped with a lens with an aperture of F/2.2. Tab S8 is equipped with two Dolby speakers for high-quality sound reproduction. The tablet runs on the Android 4.4 KitKat mobile operating system.

The weight of the tablet is 295 grams, and the thickness of the device corresponds to the thickness of a simple pencil - 7.87 mm. With good characteristics, the price of the tablet turned out to be quite attractive - $200. The manufacturer will also present a tablet with 4G support, but does not say how much more expensive it will be. Lenovo Tab S8 will be released on the market this month.

Tablets - new products for 2014 from Lenovo are presented by four new models:

  • Lenovo TAB A7-30
  • Lenovo TAB A7-50
  • Lenovo TAB A8-50
  • Lenovo TAB A10-70

Models in this line differ from tablets with similar parameters in the use of Dolby audio technology - a digital multi-channel sound system. The use of this technology allows you to obtain a “surround” sound effect extracted from the built-in speakers of the tablet. The sound produced is of high sound quality and uniformity.

Lenovo tablets are characterized by:

  • Low price at good quality devices
  • 4-core processor
  • High-quality sound for music and movies
  • Creating a stereo effect of “personal presence” while watching movies

Lenovo tablet review TAB A7-30

Lenovo tablet review TAB A7-50

The tablet is equipped with a built-in memory of 8 GB. All other parameters and technical characteristics are identical to the Lenovo Tab A7-30 tablet: 4-core MediaTek processor, “surround” sound with Dolby audio. Connect to 3G network, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.

Lenovo tablet review TAB A8-50

The Lenovo TAB A8-50 tablet has a different screen size, its diagonal is 8 inches. The dimensions of the tablet are 217 x 136 x 8.9 mm (length, width, thickness, respectively) and light weight - 360 g, making it convenient to carry with you all the time, ready to work at any moment.

The same 4-core processor as in previous models, MediaTek with a clock speed of 1.3 GHz. The multi-touch IPS display with an image resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels shows a clear picture with fine detail rendered. The battery capacity is 4200 MAh.

The 5 MP main camera and 2 MP front camera allow you to take high-quality pictures. The tablet is equipped with a software version that supports voice calls. “Spatial” sound is provided by Dolby audio technology. The tablet connects to a 3G network, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi and is equipped with a GPS receiver.

Lenovo tablet review TAB A10-70

Just like other models in this line, Lenovo Tab A10-70 tablets are powered by a 4-core MediaTek MT8121 or MediaTek MT8382 processor, frequency 1.3 GHz. The same multi-touch IPS screen, but with large size– 10 inches, image resolution 1200 x 800 pixels.

Compared to other tablets described above, the battery of the Lenovo Tab A10-70 tablet has the largest capacity - 6340 MAh, which will allow you to work with the tablet for a long time or watch a movie without charging the battery.

This tablet model is effective for those users who often go on business trips and spend a long time on the road: by train, plane or bus, where it is not always possible to charge the battery.

The tablet's two cameras: a 5-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel front camera allow you to take high-quality pictures with high color rendition and contrast.

The Lenovo Tab A10-70 tablet is equipped with a 3G network connection, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, a GPS receiver and support for voice commands.

We continue our review of Lenovo tablets

Despite the fact that more and more companies are leaving exhibitions, even such large and high-profile ones as CES and MWC, to present minor products and not the most important announcements, preferring separate dates for major presentations, Lenovo showed a lot of interesting things at CES 2014. In particular, an update to the unusual X1 Carbon ultrabook, a series of Yoga laptops, as well as new tablet on a full-fledged Windows Pro for “business users” and a smartphone.

Lenovo ThinkPad 8

In my opinion, the most interesting announcement from Lenovo is a new tablet based on Windows 8.1 Pro with excellent characteristics and cool materials, which is still a rarity on the market. Lenovo ThinkPad 8 is a tablet in an aluminum casing, with an 8.3" screen based on an IPS matrix with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels, based on a quad-core Intel Atom 2.4 GHz processor, with 2 GB of RAM and a 128 GB flash drive. The device also has a slot for a microSD memory card. From ports microUSB 3.0, microHDMI, Wi-Fi and 3G/LTE modules, 3.5 mm mini-jack. The tablet has two cameras - a main 8 MP and a front one - 2 MP, the stated operating time without recharging is up to 8 hours. The weight of the device is 430-440 grams, depending on the configuration.

Sales of Lenovo ThinkPad 8 in the States will begin at the end of January, the stated price is from 400 US dollars. There will be several accessories available for the device, including a Quickshot cover and a hardware keyboard.

Lenovo ThinkPad X240

For those who missed last year's announcement of the X230 update, the company brought the new X240 to the States at CES 2014. The update turned out to be very cautious and modest, probably because the company is afraid to make any radical changes to the laptop, the main feature of which is still continuity of design and all the features characteristic of old IBM ThinkPad laptops - many connectors, quality of the display and keyboard, and so on.

Like the X230, the new X240 is equipped with a 12.5" screen with a similar resolution of 1366x768 pixels and a matte finish; the screen is based on a high-quality IPS matrix. The laptop is built on the fourth generation Intel Core processors (Haswell), has 4-8 GB of RAM, Intel HD4400 graphics, and an SSD or HDD drive to choose from. The laptop, like the previous model, has a high-capacity battery; the Lenovo ThinkPad X240 runs on Windows 7 or 8. As you can see, even when it comes to choosing an operating system, Lenovo tries to leave the necessary choice for its customers. I am sure that many people who want to switch from the X220/X230 to the new product will choose the X240 with Windows 7 on board instead of the G8.

By and large, there is little new in the X240 - a barely noticeable design update, an update to the processor line used, a new touchpad, and also, optionally, a touch screen instead of the classic one. The cost of the youngest X240 in the USA is about $1,000; in Russia, prices for the simplest X240 model with an Intel Core i3 processor start at about 33,000 rubles.

Lenovo ThinkPad New X1 Carbon

At CES 2014, the company introduced an update to the lightest 14” laptop in the world (according to Lenovo) – the X1 Carbon. True, the name of the laptop remains the same, so the company offers to distinguish the new model from the old one by using prefixes to the name. The old X1 becomes X1 Carbon Gen 1, the new one becomes New X1 Carbon. The new “carbon” received fourth generation Intel Core processors (Haswell), an optional IPS touch display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels, updated Intel HD4400 graphics (the first X1 uses Intel HD4000), as well as the “adaptive keyboard” function, this is a touch strip above the block keys, with which you can quickly launch certain applications or perform other actions.

Another important innovation is the weight reduced to 1.27 kilograms (the first X1 weighed 1.35 kg). A pleasant moment for those who do not want to switch to “tiled” Windows 8 - like the Lenovo ThinkPad X240, the New X1 Carbon can be selected with Windows 7 on board. The cost of the device in the US starts at $1,300.

Lenovo Yoga 2

The update to the Yoga convertible laptop turned out to be quite expected and ordinary. The Yoga 2 13" uses a fourth-generation Intel Core i5 processor (Haswell), a screen with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, and a backlit keyboard. The younger model, Yoga 2 11"", is built on a quad-core Intel Pentium (Bay Trail), has a screen with a resolution of 1366x768 pixels and is equipped with a 500 GB hard drive. Both versions of Yoga 2 use IPS-based screens. The youngest 11"" will be sold at a price of 530 US dollars, the older 13"" - from 1000 dollars.

Lenovo Miix

The company continues to develop the idea of transformable devices; in addition to laptops and tablets from the Yoga series, other models will now appear. In particular, Miix series tablets with 10 and 11 inch screens based on Windows OS. Both tablets are built on Intel processors, the younger 10"" runs on a 64-bit Intel Atom, the older 11" runs on a fourth-generation Intel Core i5, screens in both models have a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, and there are JBL stereo speakers. Both devices are equipped with a slot for a microSD memory card, a card reader, miniHDMI and microUSB ports, and also, optionally, a 3G module. The connected keyboard also has a USB port.

The idea of Miix for Lenovo is no longer new; there is a tablet with hardware and there is a separate keyboard attachment into which the tablet can be installed in two ways. The screen to the keyboard (you get a laptop; if desired, you can fold it and carry it like that) or the screen from the keyboard. In the second case, you get a screen on a stand; this position is convenient for watching videos, for example. Prices in the US will be as follows – Lenovo Miix 10 from $500, Miix 11 – from $700.

In addition to the Miix and Yoga Series, the company introduced budget convertible laptops Flex 14D and 15D based on AMD A6 processors with Radeon graphics.

Lenovo Vibe Z

In addition to updates to laptops, tablets and other large devices, at CES 2014 the company showed new smartphone, more precisely, a “shovel phone” (aka “phablet”). Lenovo Vibe Z is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 2.2 GHz with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory, equipped with a 5.5" IPS screen with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels and a 3000 mAh battery. We can note support for LTE, the presence of FM radio, as well as two cameras, the main one with a resolution of 13 megapixels and the front one, 5 megapixels (though without autofocus). It is not yet clear whether the new product will appear in Russia, but it certainly will not appear in the USA.

ESET NOD32 Parental Control app test: How does the parental control system work?

For many families, school time begins not only with choosing a briefcase, but also with buying a first phone “just in case” (and increasingly, a smartphone with Internet access). A little earlier or a little later, but any child receives a means of communication with his parents. Not all, but many mothers and fathers think about what their child can see or download on the Internet. Even if you have an obedient child and you have given instructions on the “dos and don’ts” on the Internet, the likelihood of encountering harmful information is high!

Here's a quick question: what batteries will you buy? Almost certainly - precisely those brands that are well-known and well known thanks to advertising. That is, the most expensive. I think it’s no secret that manufacturers usually include advertising costs in the price of their products... Nowadays there are a huge number of brands on the battery market and almost all of them claim increased performance and reliability on the packaging. But is the difference between all kinds of samples really that big? And is it wise to pay more for what is advertised the most?

Toshiba Electronics Europe forecasts: what will be the data storage trends in 2019

Where are we going to store so much data? Thanks to engineers and programmers, the capacity of disk media is becoming larger, and combining them into efficient systems storage is easier. Thus, the problems we face today have become easier to solve. But with data generation forecasts for machines such as autonomous vehicles and smart factories accelerating, and given that humans have already created massive amounts of data, including backups, will we be able to produce enough storage to meet the needs of the next decade? ? Or will we have to think about a more ruthless approach and make decisions about what we can't keep?

Review of a pair of SeaSonic Focus Plus Gold power supplies for 750 W and 850 W. Over-Gold, but under-Platinum #2

As a rule, the average modern computer, capable of coping with games and tasks more complex than CS:GO coupled with the largest breeding ground of inadequate people in the world, where the probability of meeting your unexpected father (according to him) tends to infinity, has a power supply of approximately 550-700 W. This is more than enough for any system with almost any video card, with the exception of “dual-headed” ones. More powerful blocks are purchased either out of the principle of “it’s bigger than your neighbor’s,” or out of ignorance, or to sleep more peacefully. What is the most valuable thing for any photographer? Archive and data safety. And it’s good when you shoot in a studio and can upload all your photos to a desktop computer or directly to the cloud. Online shopping: how to shop safely

Why all more people prefer to buy almost any goods and services online? First of all, we want to save money! With the development of online trading, buyers have the opportunity to compare prices online, check discounts and choose the best offers from existing ones. And now they are already moving from offline stores to online at tremendous speed: according to GfK data for 2018, 35% of Russians have bought goods online at least once in the last six months. However, criminals do not sleep and follow us - they have “modernized” and learned to steal on a grand scale: steal data bank cards and important electronic files.
