Sports spinning. Simple but effective solution

05.11.2021 ethnoscience

Fitness is no longer the only option for body modification or strengthening. Aerobics, yoga, Pilates, Zumba, and spinning appeared.

What is spinning?

Let's say right away that we are not talking about fishing gear. Spinning is a type of aerobic exercise. It is practiced on a training device, which is also called “spinning”. The whole moving device simulates riding a bicycle, which perhaps makes sense since it was created by cyclist Jonny Goldberg in 1989.

On such an exercise bike, the pedals are equipped with straps to secure the legs and prevent the foot from slipping. On the training equipment, the level of the steering wheel, the height of the seat, and the distance between them are adjusted in order to ensure maximum comfort for the athlete during training.

Spinning is also called “cycle”. It is one of the dynamic and very popular varieties of fitness known to everyone. The name of this sport comes from the word “cycle” (which means “bicycle”), and in its essence it is rhythmic but intense cycling to fast music or the commands of a coach.

The purpose of the spinning rod

The main goal is to lose weight or completely get rid of obesity. You can successfully do spinning at home (simulator) or go out into nature and get some fresh air in addition to training (bicycle).

In the gym, along with the training experience, the pace and, accordingly, the tension increases.

Again, as with most workouts in gyms, all this takes place against the backdrop of music - dynamic, but pleasant.

The workout can last up to 90 minutes. Although you will be quite exhausted from the start, you will feel an incredible surge of energy after the workout. You will feel more energetic, and this will force you to continue to visit the gym.

How is spinning useful?

With the help of spinning, the problem of excess weight is very effectively solved. At the same time, the muscles of the legs, back, abs, buttocks are strengthened and pumped up, and the athlete’s cardiovascular system is stimulated.

Spinning workouts can burn a good amount of calories. Spinning rods are actually more than just riding equipment. You can also do various hand exercises on it.

Can we sculpt a body with just a spinning rod?

The answer to this question is: no. Spinning represents great choice for aerobic exercise, but don't stop there and don't rely on it alone. The reason is that spinning mainly loads several muscle groups, while other groups do not work at this time.

If you only stick to these types of workouts, you will develop your hips too much and leave your upper body muscles under-trained and toned. Therefore, you won't look as good as you wanted.

Not every day

Also, spinning workouts are not suitable for daily practice because it can cause you serious injuries to your lower back and knees as the legs are loaded so much. This type of aerobic exercise can be done approximately 3 times a week.

However, if you stick with spinning and you like it, you can combine it with other types of loads.

Spinning classes provide a large cardio-strength load. It is recommended to consult with doctors before enrolling in a spinning group and starting training. It is better if you visit a cardiologist, because only he can choose a feasible load on your heart so as not to overload when you combine powerful strength and cardio work.

To select and purchase a high-quality ice auger, you should clearly understand what it is and what is the fundamental difference between an ice auger and an ice pick.

An ice drill is a special, mechanical tool for drilling holes in the ice cover for winter fishing. Consisting, as a rule, of three main elements: a rotor, a screw and cutting knives.

The advantages of an ice drill include:

  • Low volume operation, therefore, the chance of scaring away the fish is reduced.
  • Simplicity of operation, due to the correct placement of levers in the device, drilling ice even a meter thick does not take much time
  • The correct cylindrical shape of the holes, in addition to aesthetic value, also has a safety aspect, since an ice hole knocked out with an ice pick can, under certain circumstances, fall apart and take the fisherman under the ice.
  • Of the minuses, perhaps, there is only one, fixed size of the hole, because of this, the fish large sizes than the diameter of the hole may not fit through, a similar problem can be solved by drilling an adjacent hole. However, in practice, this is extremely rare.
  • An ice pick is a special fishing crowbar that is used to make holes in the ice. The ice pick has only one advantage over the ice drill, the ability to create an ice hole of any size.

Manufacturer

The domestic company Volzhanka has been on the market for more than 25 years. Consistent product quality, reliability and functionality, Russian production, low, relative to competitors, price, which does not in any way affect the quality of manufactured fishing gear, the company is adding more and more new fans year after year.

The popularity of this company's products can be explained simply: they are created by Russian fishermen for Russian fishing conditions, which, in fact, did not prevent the company from entering the European and Scandinavian markets. It is also indicative that Volzhanka products are presented on the Czech market in the form of a separate department in the Kotva fishing supermarket, which is located at Námĕstí Republiky 8, Praha.

Official site

On the official website of the Volzhanka company - http://volzhanka-shop.ru/. You can find all the existing products of this brand, read the history of creation and check the certification of the goods, which, of course, is a huge advantage over many competitors that do not have official “Internet representative offices” in the Russian Federation!

In addition to information activities, the site also serves as a store, which means that without leaving your home you can order the necessary gear with delivery to anywhere in the Russian Federation.

Ice screw, you need to decide on some points, firstly, who you are going to catch. The size of the fish is a very important factor, because no matter how hard you try, you won’t get bream out of a 110 mm hole. In addition to this point, it should be recalled that the larger the diameter of the hole, the longer it takes to be covered with ice.

Secondly, the height of the auger, a standard auger is designed for drilling a hole about 1 meter deep. If you like to fish in places where the ice thickness can exceed this mark, then you should take care of an additional section of the auger, or extensions for ice drills. There are knives on ice axes different types, and sometimes, the entire head can serve as a knife. With a good drill, the knife will be sharpened evenly, without chipping, the color of the metal should be uniform, without unnecessary shimmer.

Which ice screw should you buy?

The choice of an ice ax, like the choice of spinning rods and other gear, is a matter of your preferences and likes. It is very difficult to advise something specific on this matter, since the market provides huge selection various models.

Review of online stores

  • http://luxe-fishing.ru/ is an online store with a wide selection of products, responsive managers and low prices!
  • http://kitaiki.ru/ is a company that has a truly huge range of products. You can buy it as in real life, and via the Internet directly from home.
  • http://www.rybolov-sportsmen.ru/ is a store that has an excellent reputation among fishermen. The site presents more than 25,000 products, for each of which the store provides a 1-year guarantee!
  • http://fishingshops.ru/ is perhaps the most famous company in Russia. The site presents more than 20,000 fishing products at wholesale prices. Over 4 years of operation, the company has received hundreds of laudatory reviews from customers from all over Russia!

DIY ice drill

Because in order for the ice drill to work efficiently and correctly, it is required that an equal angle of rounding of the auger turns be maintained, which is almost impossible to do at home. Even if you have a machine and a turner friend who agrees to help you, it is not possible to create a truly high-quality drill.

And are the efforts and resources worth it? After all, nowadays you can acquire excellent gear without leaving your home.

There is a paradox in modern spinning sports: despite all the technical and theoretical innovations and achievements mastered by spinning athletes, amateur fishermen perceive them as eccentric “dummies” who have no idea about real fishing. They say that athletes have never seen a real fish, much less caught one, they are all losers fishing for their own perches...

Hostages of the system

To become a winner, its participant previously did not need to catch good and large fish - it was much more profitable to catch the ubiquitous medium-sized perch. And the more time a potential master of sports devoted to sport fishing for perch, the further he moved away from high-quality spinning fishing. To achieve success in sports, one had to train a lot and persistently in catching “striped fish,” pulling out almost tons of them per season. Naturally, we simply didn’t get around to searching for trophy pike. And the comrades of the unfortunate athletes, having heartily caught a worthy predator in the jig pits, sometimes began to truly sympathize with them, who were mired up to their ears in the sport. Evil tongues did not hesitate to mockingly joke: “Do you know that the average weight of a sports catch should not exceed the total weight of ultra-light tackle?” Or they were even downright rude, calling the competitors unprintable synonyms for contraception. The fact that the athletes were not “dummies”, but rather hostages of the sports system that existed until recently, worried few people. Their authority was undermined completely and irrevocably for many years. How the development of fishing sports in the country suffered from this is needless to say. A strong spinning player who entered an official competition for the first time, who decently caught a couple of decent pikes and at the same time lost to a dozen “professionals” who brought a bucket of 30-50 gram perch to the finish line, as a rule, “gave up” the sport forever. The sport was also unattractive for the majority of potential sponsors - who, besides the participants themselves, needed an “advertising platform” that was not interesting to anyone. But this could not continue, and the sport in its evolution steered towards the only possible ban on the uncontrolled fishing of small fish in the current deadlock situation.

Simple but effective solution

At the last Russian Spinning Championship, held at the Uglich Reservoir in Sknyatino, only twenty perches were taken into account, and the point of catching a full bag immediately disappeared. The size of this very perch came into first place, as well as the ability to “catch” then qualifying pike and pike-perch (larger than 32 and 40 cm, respectively) in quantities of no more than five pieces. The champion in the individual competition, as one would expect, was the jig fish, which was “closed” by large river pikes in both rounds. His team is second. The champions of Russia in the team competition (a team from Dubna near Moscow) also showed a high class of fishing for the once “secondary” pike in the sport and won by a very large margin. By the way, at the 2008 Russian Championship there were also restrictions on catching perch (specimens no less than 15 cm long), and also the entire pedestal was occupied by hardened “pikemen” from Krasnodar with very enviable catches. The revolution has happened! This means that many athletes still know how to catch good fish, they just weren’t given the will before. The winners are now those who relied specifically on catching big fish. And the champions of previous years, who ate the dog at high-speed perch fishing, were consistently in the “flight”. In general, we can cautiously conclude that the sport has become somewhat closer to real fishing life. And this is very good. In the same winter jig, the sport is infinitely far from amateur fishing, and in modern spinning even fishing with jerkbaits last season allowed you to climb to the podium and win prizes. So what can fishing give to amateurs? Is there anything we can learn from athletes? Should you try your hand at fishing? Let's try to answer these questions.

Algorithm for the fastest, but without fuss, game for results

In sport or winter fishing for many years, the main difference from recreational fishing was the use of much thinner gear. The use by athletes of fishing lines with a thickness of 0.06-0.09 mm versus the common 0.20-0.24 mm in summer fishing immediately gave an obvious result. In spinning there is no longer such an obvious difference between amateur and sports equipment. The technical component alone will not achieve a breakthrough. First of all, the sport of fishing forces the spinner to use his brain - frequent trips to new unfamiliar bodies of water develop certain skills and techniques for quickly finding fish. And this is a most valuable skill in regular fishing. The algorithm of actions that an amateur should adopt includes a special sequence of work on a pond. An athlete doesn’t just swim in a boat on a pond and catch fish, he tries to a short time gain maximum knowledge about the reservoir, check as many interesting points as possible over a huge area. At the same time, there is almost no time left for actually catching fish. He will catch fish the very next day or on his next trip to the reservoir, but he will catch more of it than in two ordinary fishing voyages. After all, the satellite navigator contains quite a lot of promising and potentially working points, an approximate sequence of actions for catching them has been built in your head, and in the boat there are several specially selected gear “loaded” with the necessary baits. And the work is being done to achieve a specific result.

How to apply this tactic to recreational fishing? Very simple. You have come to relax at a fishing base in another region, for example, the Lower Volga. You were offered the services of a qualified huntsman who knows all the local “notable” places, or you were simply given a map of the water area with points of interest marked. Do not try to go through all the points at once on your first trip out on the water, trying to master them at a glance. Ask the huntsman to take you for a ride to all the interesting corners, let him tell you where the depths are, what prospects. Observe the echo sounder readings, seagulls and currents yourself. Throw the spinning rod a little to warm up and initially select baits. In the evening, carefully analyze everything and choose the main fishing object that you will focus on the next day. If you are going to catch pike, do not react to asp exits; If you are targeting pike perch, then take only a jig with you in the boat. Such specialization will wean you from the bad amateur habit of looking for and catching only overactive fish. Having arrived at one riffle or hole and made a couple of hasty casts, do not immediately rush to the next one, in the hope of accidentally stumbling upon a “cauldron” or “exit” of fish. So you will never learn to catch it. It’s better, without rushing, today to “break through” a few good pike-perch snags, pick up a key to the “fanged” one, catch a couple of fish, and at the same time acquire some knowledge about a specific point. If you didn’t manage to catch a fish, it’s okay: a negative result is also a result. And you can go for the same asp tomorrow, also in a comprehensive manner, measuredly “working out” the next section. There are fish everywhere, they just don’t always express a desire to be caught.

No, too much!

No less interesting and worthy of attention is the principle of selecting and using baits, in particular wobblers. Very strong athletes tend to use a limited number of well-mastered lures. For grass pike they have a couple of minnows, for chub - several multi-deepening cranks, and so on for each fish. In addition, they have a certain supply of the same baits for the future. That is, to achieve results, they do not need boxes chock full of various wobblers - a few proven and well-mastered ones are quite enough. And they operate according to fishing schemes that have been worked out (sometimes for years): pike in shallow water - bait “A”, pike under the shore edge - bait “B”, etc. Many novice spinning anglers, standing at one point, constantly go through the same type of bait, but from different manufacturers. It has long been noted that almost all modern wobblers need to be “caught”, that is, to select that unique game and retrieve in which this particular minnow or fat has an irresistible effect on the predator. If such wiring is selected, then the bait will work stably on most bodies of water under the conditions for which it is designed. So it turns out that on the water, an amateur “collector” (and there are a lot of them) wastes time on an endless selection of baits, varying colors, sizes and changing spinners for wobblers, wobblers for light jigs, and the athlete stands on the point and catches fish on it. The bait has been chosen in advance and its placement is perfect. This is what professionalism is all about.

The main thing is not the pedestal, but the growth of skill
Perhaps the only quality that should not be adopted from spinning athletes is their haste and desire to get the fastest result at any cost. There is little benefit in free fishing from using the “at least something instead of nothing” tactics. If you replace the adrenaline boiling in your blood with tourist prudence and a philosophical attitude to business, you can end up with a truly high-quality spinning player with a great future.

So is fishing worth it?

Definitely worth it. You can go fishing for years and even catch good fish, but you will not grow at all professionally. And when you fish side by side with several enthusiastic fanatics (whether in training or at the start), you instantly learn from their experience. I remember from my own experience that at the very first competitions I seemed to “see the light” in some points that had previously seemed obvious. “Wow, it turns out that everything is simple” - were my thoughts at the moment when I first saw the “correct” twitching. My teammates and I looked at the correct casting techniques on small rivers, pike-perch jigging, and many others. the most useful techniques things we might never have learned on our own. Five or six years ago, my friends and I didn’t really know about sports spinning, but now five masters of sports of the Russian Federation have appeared in our small town. We climbed to the podium of the Russian championships, were part of the national team, and now we’ve completely fallen ill with the sport of fishing, and we don’t even think about giving it up. Come to the sport - you won't regret it! Even if you don’t achieve great success, you will certainly gain invaluable experience, which is also irreplaceable in amateur fishing.

One cannot but agree that most people associate the word “spinning” with fishing. However, now we will not talk about fishing rods and ponds at all, but about a completely different meaning of this word.

The word “spinning” also refers to a set of exercises on special exercise bikes, developed by a South African cyclist and athlete Jonathan Goldberg, better known as Johnny G (G).

Johnny G's latest innovation is a special bike designed for people with lower body injuries. The peculiarity of the simulator is that the pedals are turned not by feet, but by hands.

But Johnny came up with and developed his first exercise bike and special program more than 20 years ago, when he was looking for a way to train indoors rather than outdoors. Several years later, the exercise bikes he produced have proven themselves to be very effective method burning calories, and cycling aerobics, or spinning, has become popular all over the world.

Features and advantages of spinning

Spinning is good, first of all, because you can independently set and change the intensity of the exercises, depending on your level of physical fitness and health status. The simulator can also be adjusted to suit you - set the height of the seat, steering wheel, and the distance between them. Those who have been spinning for more than one year claim that in just two weeks active activities the results of training are noticeable.

The main advantages of spinning are:

  • a) rapid burning of calories (400-600 calories per workout);
  • b) strengthening the cardiovascular system;
  • c) reduction of fat deposits;
  • d) increase in overall muscle tone;
  • e) reducing stress levels;
  • f) increasing overall flexibility and strengthening the whole body, etc.

What is spinning?

Spinning is a kind of imitation group ride on bicycles in a variety of modes (on the highway, uphill, over rough terrain, on sand, etc.). This means that in front of a group of trainees there is a large monitor with a moving and constantly changing landscape picture. This creates the feeling that you are actually riding a bike, and the level of difficulty of your “ride” depends on what picture is currently on the screen. Agree, driving on a straight, flat road is much easier than pedaling up a rocky path.

What are its differences?

In bicycle aerobics, in addition to spinning, there is one more variety - this cycle reebok, or cycling. In fact, these are the same sport, but there are still differences. For example, during cycling the load is distributed on both the upper and lower parts of the body, while spinning is aimed mainly at the lower part.

Cycling is more like recreational riding, and spinning is more like speed riding. Therefore, if you wish, you can do both, just by varying your body position and the settings of the simulator.

What can be achieved

With the help of spinning you can significantly reduce body weight, make muscles more prominent and elastic, become more resilient, strengthen the respiratory and cardiovascular systems, improve coordination of movements. Spinning is also very useful for those who want to quit smoking, since powerful exercise and smoking are two incompatible things.

Who can and who can’t do spinning

Study everyone can, regardless of gender, age and level of physical fitness. The exception is people who have problems with knee joints, as well as diseases cardiovascular And nervous systems. Cycling exercises are recommended for people with the initial stage of varicose veins, but first consult a doctor.

Where and how much to study

You can, of course, buy an exercise bike and exercise at home, but group classes at a fitness club have their advantages, such as the spirit of competition, an experienced trainer and just a fun company in which you won’t even notice how time flies. Training time varies, depending on the level of training, from 30 to 75 minutes when visiting 2-3 times a week.

Some useful tips

  1. Always carry a water bottle with you as you will sweat a lot during exercise and become dehydrated.
  2. Eat a properly balanced diet, because you will need a lot of energy. You should eat at least an hour before training and 2 hours after.
  3. Do not try to immediately take a high pace, regulate the rhythm of pedaling, otherwise you will overexert yourself and get tired quickly. Assess your capabilities adequately.
  4. Before starting a workout, it is recommended to stretch to warm up the muscles and avoid injury.
  5. Do not hesitate to ask questions to the instructor: he will tell you how to properly set up the trainer and sit on it, and if something happens, he will provide first aid.
  6. A T-shirt for training should be comfortable, made of natural material that allows air to pass through. It is better to choose pants with a special lining in the crotch. Sneakers are preferably low, so as not to prevent the leg from freely bending at the ankle.

“Let’s start spinning!” - your friend tells you. Don’t look at her in surprise: this proposal has nothing to do with fishing. Spinning today is called a variation of one of the most effective fitness programs - bicycle aerobics. Spinning helps you get rid of extra centimeters and kilograms in the shortest possible time and acquire the desired shape.

Travel in place

At its core, cycling aerobics is a cardio exercise; accordingly, it develops blood vessels and the heart, thanks to it the body becomes more resilient. In addition, it forms and strengthens the muscles of the thighs, legs and buttocks. Well, its main advantage is that it burns fat perfectly.

There are two directions of cycling aerobics.

Cycling- a kind of race for survival. A significant part of the load falls on the legs. The position on the exercise bike is the same as that of real cyclists: the back is rounded, the shoulders are lowered as much as possible, the body is tilted over the handlebars. In this position, the pedals need to be pedaled at super-fast speed, as if you were competing in a world cycling championship and competing for a gold medal.

Spinning– this is the so-called “quiet” ride. Unlike its “relative” - cycling - it does not require excessive energy output and loads characteristic of strength training. During spinning classes, not only the leg muscles are worked out, but also the abdominal and back muscles. The position of the cyclist on the simulator: sitting, shoulders down, shoulder blades connected, pelvis slightly pulled back.

It is worth distinguishing cycling aerobics from simply pedaling an exercise bike alone. Their main difference is that cycling aerobics is more exciting; it creates an imitation of a group cycling race in all sorts of modes: cross-country, highway, downhill, etc. The undeniable advantage of training is that there is no time to get bored; classes are conducted to the accompaniment of energetic music. As a rule, in spinning studios, participants in a kind of bicycle race are positioned in front of an impressive screen, onto which different pictures of nature are projected, replacing each other: a steep mountain road, a flowering field, forests, the sea coast, villages. When you see an image of a sharp turn, you unconsciously tend to veer sideways. Due to this, the load is distributed across all muscle groups.

Load Types

Johnny Goldberg, the man who founded cycling aerobics, is a former famous cyclist. He based spinning on many of the basic characteristics inherent in cycling. One of the components of this technique is cycling, which involves the cyclist performing ascents, descents, accelerations and other specific technical and tactical actions while riding.

Goldberg identified six variations of stationary cycling techniques that simulate the same technique when covering real sections of the trail on a real bike:
Seated Flat - driving on a flat road in a sitting position
Standing Flat - riding in a standing position at a fast pace
Seated Climbing - riding uphill in a sitting position
Standing Climbing - riding uphill while standing
Sprints - sprint
Jumps - jumping

When you enter the cycling aerobics room, you will see a row of exercise machines waiting for “passengers” trying to lose weight.

Feel free to choose any one you like, adjust the seat (by yourself or with the help of a trainer) and - go! A properly adjusted seat is 50 percent of your success: even a seemingly insignificant couple of centimeters can change the load and direct it to the required muscle groups.

Then look at the special lever that regulates the mobility of the pedals. There are ten load levels. At the first level, you don’t need to make any effort: you press the pedals, and they seem to spin on their own. At the last level, considerable effort is required to move the pedals.

To determine what load is optimal for you, the trainer will ask you to pedal first with minimal and then with maximum force. The duration of the lesson is from half an hour to an hour. The structure of the lesson includes: warm-up, main workout, cool-down and stretching. Throughout the training, the instructor will ask you to constantly change “gears”, thanks to which in a fairly short period of time your hips will acquire elasticity and a beautiful shape. Cycles, called approaches and approaches, can vary in duration - from one to several minutes. Prepare yourself at a fast pace and maximum load.

Among the undeniable advantages of cycling aerobics are the following:
stress on cardiovascular system relatively accurately dosed
You can train at any time, regardless of climatic and weather conditions
in group classes, an individual approach to each student is still maintained, and the level of his preparedness is taken into account
cycling aerobics, if combined with a balanced diet, is an excellent method for reducing body weight
the risk of injury is practically reduced to zero, which is quite high during outdoor training and cycling
Due to the musical accompaniment of training, the emotionality of the training increases

You need to do exercises regularly
It is important to observe an individual approach (the so-called individualization principle)
While performing the exercises, one must not forget about proper breathing; under no circumstances should one hold one’s breath.
After classes you need a good rest
Adhere to the principles of rational nutrition
If they swell lower limbs, you need to drink an additional 0.5-0.6 liters of neutral non-carbonated mineral water(in between meals and liquids). Water intake must be distributed throughout the day until 18.00. After 18.00 you should stop taking liquids, with the exception of those liquids (tea, kefir, juice) that you drink during or after dinner.
Avoid activities in the early morning or late evening;
When training, it is better to wear comfortable clothes that are moisture-wicking.

Equipment

It is necessary to select special clothing for cycling training in advance. Keep in mind that cycling can cause a lot of rubbing in the groin area. So, if you attend classes in regular “sweatpants”, you may experience a feeling of discomfort and not get proper satisfaction from the “bike ride”. The best option is to buy special cycling shorts that have thick foam padding. Sometimes this piece of clothing is jokingly called a diaper, but such shorts look quite stylish. This problem can be solved differently: purchase a special helium saddle cover in the store.

To avoid unnecessary bending of the foot, shoes should be chosen with hard soles. You can also purchase special gloves.

You should have a bottle of still mineral water or plain water on hand. When you exercise, your body excretes sweat, causing you to lose fluid. You definitely need to replenish the lack of water - when you get thirsty, take two or three sips, or drink immediately after finishing your workout. It is not recommended to drink cold water; it is better if it is at room temperature.

Race from heart attack

Before you start attending cycling aerobics classes, you need to undergo a fitness testing procedure or tell the trainer about the health problems that you have.

Classes are contraindicated:
People who have problems with the lower back or knees
For those who suffer from disorders nervous system
Women during pregnancy

But in the initial stages of varicose veins, cycling aerobics will be very useful.

Regular spinning classes will help hypertensive patients suffering from migraines forget about high blood pressure and headaches (of course, if we are not talking about severe forms of the disease). For hypotensive people, cycling is more suitable, since it will boost their tone. Anyone who wants to give up smoking is also a direct route to cycling, because heavy loads are incompatible with nicotine consumption. Make sure of this by trying it for yourself!

What qualities should a good instructor have?

You can rest assured of the instructor’s professionalism if:
he is certified as a cycling instructor
he knows everything about the work of the lower leg, knee and other “parts” of the body
he monitors your position and the correctness of the movements performed throughout the entire lesson
